Subject: Update on Utility Account Transfers
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am Holly Krueger-Nolfo, a loyal customer, following in the footsteps of my late father, Harry Krueger. I regret to inform you of his passing on May 25, [redacted]. Currently, I reside in one of his properties at [redacted] Manhattan, St. Clair Shores, Mi [redacted], while he lived at [redacted] Cheyenne, Clinton Twp, Mi [redacted]. The utilities in St. Clair Shores are in my name, while those in Clinton Twp are in his name. I have recently purchased his property in Clinton Twp and wish to transfer the utilities to my name there. The St. Clair Shores property is under a Trust, and I would like to switch the utilities back to his name, as they are currently under my name.
I understand this may seem complicated, and I apologize for any confusion. The passing of my father has been deeply distressing, and I am trying to manage his affairs amidst this emotional turmoil. I am keen to streamline this process and continue with the budget plan for the Clinton Twp property. However, the St. Clair Shores property, now vacant and being prepared for sale, does not require the budget plan.
Kindly contact me via email at [redacted] or phone at [redacted] to further discuss and hopefully facilitate a smooth transition.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Holly L. Krueger-Nolfo

We have a fixed monthly payment plan, but recently received a letter from DTE stating that our set amount was insufficient and we owe a large sum. The letter mentioned spreading this amount over 12 months. However, the DTE app now shows a past due amount of $[redacted]. I am concerned about the possibility of a utility disconnection and seek advice on how to address this matter to avoid any service disruptions.

Hello, my name is Curtis Lee Johnson. I reside at [redacted] West Grand Ave, zip code [redacted] in Muskegon, Michigan. I have been encountering billing issues. Despite making online payments for several months, there seems to be a discrepancy. Recently, I received shut-off notices for this month and prior ones, claiming I owe over $[redacted]. Upon contacting my worker, financial technicians discovered the payments might have been lost in transit or directed to the wrong account. To address this, my worker proposed setting up a payment plan until the matter is resolved, as we have been without gas for months. My son and I are affected by this situation. I am eager to hear back from you at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your assistance.

My name is Jonathan S., and my account number is [redacted]. A few months ago, I arranged a payment plan, and the security deposit was waived. I made a payment of around $[redacted] towards the $[redacted] I owed. Normally, I receive my bill by mail, but last time it was only sent by email, which I don't check often. Without receiving the bill, I missed the deadline, and the security deposit was put back on my account. I paid $[redacted] on 08/24, intending to catch up. Now I have received a bill for $[redacted].04 due on 10/04 to avoid a shutoff. Due to financial constraints, I can only manage to pay the current charge of $91.09 for this month. I believe the security deposit should not have been reapplied, as I would have paid the remaining balance on time if I had received the bill by mail. I am seeking assistance to rectify this situation.

Subject: Urgent Account Address Issue with DTE
To whom it may concern,
I have been diligently working on resolving account problems with DTE for over six months now. We moved to our current address at [redacted] Devon Lane, Canton, MI [redacted] in March [redacted] and requested our service to be discontinued at [redacted] Riverview Ave, Monroe, MI [redacted], as we no longer resided there and had sold the property. Initially, our service address was correct, but since April [redacted], the address has been displaying incorrectly online. Although I receive email bills correctly, my online account erroneously shows my service address as Monroe, which is not accurate. My bill has now reached close to $[redacted], and I am unable to make payments due to this issue.
Despite raising a ticket and contacting various departments, including agents and IT, the problem remains unresolved after several months. As I will be relocating again in about six months, I urgently need this matter rectified to prevent any further complications when the time comes.
For any inquiries, please contact my husband, Mike B., at [redacted], as I am unable to take personal calls during the day.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Kate Blackmer

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to address a billing issue regarding my account [redacted]. The bill for November is showing as $[redacted].41, which I believe to be incorrect. I suspect this discrepancy may be due to a new device installed by DTE that is responsible for readings. It seems to be providing inaccurate information.
I kindly request that someone come and rectify this issue promptly. If unresolved, I will only pay the amount I paid in November [redacted]. Should no action be taken, I will consider pursuing legal or other means. After researching online, I discovered that DTE has been receiving numerous complaints regarding similar matters.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
John Huizinga

Hello, my name is Smita Kothari, and I reside at [redacted] Silver Leaf Lane, West Bloomfield, MI [redacted]. In August, my son moved out, and DTE sent me a final bill without confirming if I was moving out. Despite calling them 10 times and paying three bills in September, they resumed my service without permission and later discontinued service to my appliances without notifying me. I only discovered this accidentally yesterday. They have been negligent and show no concern for customers. I requested them to send an email after the service restarts, but they refused. I am frustrated and upset with their careless service. If I do not receive proper service, I will escalate this matter to consumer services. You can reach me at my email address, [redacted]

The information being broadcast on the radio is concerning to many listeners. There are varying opinions on global warming, with some believing it is a hoax. Claims are made about the renewable nature of coal, natural gas, and oil as fuel sources, emphasizing their efficiency and cleanliness. Solar and wind power are said not to be sustainable in meeting energy needs. The view is presented that carbon is beneficial to the atmosphere while water is portrayed as harmful. Electric cars are noted as reliant on coal-burning power plants, with concerns raised about the environmental impact of producing car batteries. The promotion of alternative fuel sources by power companies is seen as costly to consumers and possibly misleading. Criticism is directed at figures such as Al Gore and politicians in Washington D.C. for profiting from what is described as misinformation. The information shared emphasizes a different perspective on energy and environmental issues.

Hello, my name is Tajahe Thomas. I've been struggling to keep up with my bills and am the sole provider for my household. It's challenging to meet all the requirements alone, especially when paying rent and DTE bills by myself. Despite being on payment plans, things have become tough. I'm facing a possible shut off, but if that happens, I will figure out a solution. Balancing work and finances with a daughter to support is overwhelming. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Rent is $[redacted], and I earn $[redacted] weekly, needing to allocate $[redacted] biweekly for my daughter. Juggling these expenses is hard, and I'm even working extra shifts to make ends meet. Unfortunately, I had to forgo Christmas this year due to financial strain. Your help would be a true relief.

We recently moved into our new home. I thought I arranged for both electric and gas services with Consumer Energy, but it seems it was only for electric. When I returned home, my wife informed me that the house was not heating up, which is crucial, especially since we have a daughter with a disability. I have a reconnect date scheduled for January 2nd, which is unacceptable given our situation. I'm unsure if additional documentation is required, such as my daughter's Social Security paperwork, but I urgently need someone to come over and restore our gas service. Your prompt assistance would be highly valued.

I am looking to set up a generator transfer switch at my home for a secure generator connection without any backfeeding risk. I am considering the GenerLink 30 amp MA23-N transfer switch model. This specific model requires a DTE technician to remove the meter and place the transfer switch between the meter and electric box. I reached out to a company representative who mentioned that DTE needs to handle the installation as they are the only ones authorized to remove the meter. According to them, the installation process is quick and straightforward. To arrange for DTE to come out and install the transfer switch, I am trying to figure out how to schedule an appointment. The installation process seems uncomplicated based on the information provided in the link. Thank you.

Hello, I need assistance for my brother and other residents residing at [redacted] Fuller N.E. in Grand Rapids. The landlord is currently incarcerated, and since March 13th, the heat and lights have been turned off, as per my brother's update. Many residents at the location, including my brother who has disabilities, are without heating and lighting, making it extremely cold, especially at night. I am seeking guidance on any emergency programs or assistance available to have the gas turned back on for heat promptly, allowing us to address the situation later. Additionally, I will contact the electricity company regarding the lights. Please contact me through this forum or call me at [redacted] to provide updates or assistance so that I can inform the affected residents. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

In June [redacted], I separated from my ex-wife, and we were living apart. In July [redacted], I turned off the electricity for the rental property under my name, paid the remaining balance, and scheduled the service to be shut off. When I contacted the DTE representative, they confirmed everything was in order. Now, in April [redacted], I received a collection letter from a debt collector stating I owe $[redacted] to DTE, even though I had settled the bill and terminated the service. I suspect my ex-wife may have impersonated me to have the service reinstated without my knowledge, as she has done in the past with other companies. I informed DTE previously about this possibility. I am very displeased with this situation and want it resolved promptly.

Hello, I am Vanessa Hayes and I am extremely worried about my utility bill. Initially, it was $[redacted] for the first year at [redacted] W Outer Drive. After road and water pipe repairs, it rose to $[redacted]. Suddenly, this past fall and winter, it skyrocketed to $[redacted]. I have requested a meter check because water entered the gas line due to road construction. Why is DTE estimating my bill at $[redacted] every month? My meter is covered with a silver box and insulation. I need clarification on this significant increase. I am struggling to comprehend and manage this expense. Please assist me. Sincerely, Vanessa Hayes.

I have called [redacted] times, spent [redacted] minutes on hold, and been transferred 5 times without any call backs as promised.
On Saturday, August 3, [redacted], Urban Tree Trimming, hired by DTE, came to trim trees at my house. Despite my instructions not to put weight on my old fence, they dragged heavy branches through my yard, breaking 2 panels, a teeth point, and damaging the secure beam.
I have evidence with videos and photos. The supervisor mentioned that a company representative would contact me, but no one has.
I am pursuing all available claims for the damages caused to my property. Despite trying to reach out to DTE multiple times, the phone number provided does not work even after [redacted] attempts.
Regards,
Janet Franklin

I came home today to find that your company had trimmed back many trees without any prior notice, as promised in the letter sent several months ago. I had moved to Dearborn from Howell, and my favorite part of the house was the small trail in my backyard. Unfortunately, your workers cut a wide path through my trail and severely damaged two small trees I had planted. One tree is completely gone, along with the logs I had placed around it, and the other tree is broken halfway up. These trees held sentimental value as they were from my late grandfather's business. I am very upset as that spot in my yard meant a lot to me, and it would have been appreciated if I had been informed before any work was done on my property. The lack of communication and the damage done have left me feeling neglected and disappointed.

Hello, I am Matthew Myers, the maintenance lead at the Village of Oakland Woods ([redacted] S Opdyke, Pontiac, MI, [redacted]).
I've attempted four times to request assistance from DTE to repair our tall street lights. Previously, residents have witnessed DTE personnel changing bulbs over the years. Recently, a lighting contractor examined the issue and found the problem lies with the photo cell located in your box near Kirkman. The photo cell, mounted inside a gray box, is connected to wiring in the access panel. Unfortunately, some of the wiring inside is damaged, and we were unable to repair it fully as it connects to the service box. The problematic lights, a concern for many senior residents for most of the year, are positioned around 30 yards away from this box at the south entrance on Opdyke. I kindly request your assistance in ensuring these lights illuminate along with the others for the safety and well-being of our elderly residents. Thank you.

I am currently seeking assistance for my mother and myself as we are both disabled. My mother is unable to walk, and I am unable to go outside. She has been immobile for the past three months. I previously applied for the LSP program and reapplied last Friday but have not received any updates yet. We are at risk of having our utilities shut off as we are low income. I am unsure of what steps to take next and could really benefit from some guidance. My name is Ashley A. Werdlow, and my account number is [redacted]. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I received a call on 2/4, and they left a message asking me to contact them about my account. I promptly returned the call and spoke with a representative. After giving the necessary details, they requested the last four digits of my social security number, which I declined to provide. Despite informing them of my recent payment for the January bill with the reference number and date, they did not explain the purpose of their call. The call quality was poor, which was unexpected from a large corporation. If there are issues, it's preferable to communicate via email. Requesting sensitive information like social security numbers over the phone is unprofessional, considering we are advised not to share such details over the phone.
