Dear Community Members,
I have been a happy user of Shop Safe for a long time, relying on it for my online purchases. Recently, I encountered an issue where I couldn't create a new Shop Safe number for about four days due to a system maintenance message. After contacting Bank of America, I received conflicting information about why this was happening. Two representatives mentioned that I had reached my Shop Safe limit and thus wouldn't be able to use the service anymore, which was puzzling given that my credit card is active. This situation made me question continuing my relationship with Bank of America. Luckily, this morning, Shop Safe became available again, but the multiple excuses and time wasted on the phone have left me frustrated. The notion of reaching a Shop Safe limit seems unreasonable to me.

I was charged a $35 overdraft fee that I believe was unjustified. Although my account showed a negative balance of less than a dollar, I keep meticulous records and am certain I should not have incurred this fee. I have a Safelink account and do not typically use it for gas purchases or ridesharing. I called customer service twice to address this issue. The first representative assured me the fee would be refunded immediately, but it did not happen. The second representative said it was in the transfer process but the refund never appeared. I've been waiting for five days now for this to be resolved as promised. Please credit my account for this erroneous charge. I appreciate your help in rectifying this matter. Thank you.

I have been trying to contact Bank of America for assistance without any luck. I reside in England and attempted to call the international number, only to be instructed to dial another number. Upon calling the new number, I heard a message about my call being verified, then the call was disconnected. It seems challenging to get in touch with your customer service.
The reason for my repeated attempts to reach out is because I am unable to access my bank account. Whenever I try to log in, I receive a prompt asking for an access number. Since I don't have a mobile phone, I requested to receive the number via a phone call, but I have not received any response. I suspect this may be due to the website not accepting my English phone number, as it only seems to recognize American or Canadian numbers. This limitation is puzzling to me, considering Bank of America is an international bank. The experience of trying to contact support appears seamless on the website but has turned out to be overly complicated, disappointing, and incredibly frustrating.
I am hopeful that someone can assist me as I am eager to ascertain the balance in my bank account.

I need assistance with resolving conflicting information from your staff regarding reporting errors to credit bureaus. A few years ago, I set up automatic drafts with your bank but rarely used the account. In January [redacted], I was charged for an Amazon membership renewal without my knowledge while I was away on business. Upon discovering the charges, I contacted your billing department. Initially, I was assured that the late fee due to this error wouldn't be reported to credit bureaus, but subsequent calls indicated otherwise. Despite minimal card activity, the automatic draft setup would have prevented this issue. Please rectify the incorrect negative information reported to the credit bureaus.

After checking my year-end statement, I noticed a strange $10.59 charge from IHeart/Napster. I am familiar with their subscription fees being either $5.99 or $12.99, so this charge felt like fraud. Despite reaching out to the company and finding no record of the transaction, I believe it was indeed fraudulent. I contacted BOA to report the issue, and they opened a case but also revisited a previous fraud case due to the charge appearing on different card numbers. Unfortunately, BOA reversed several hundred dollars from the previous claim and rejected the new claim without providing a reason. Despite speaking with multiple representatives, the issue remains unresolved, and money from previous fraud incidents has been reversed. Each time I call, I have to repeat my story to a different person, which is extremely frustrating. After being a loyal cardholder for 14 years, I am considering canceling my card due to this terrible customer service experience.

When sending payments through ACH or wire transfers, contacting the recipient is crucial to ensure they accept the specific transfer type requested. Certain entities like mortgage lenders or investment firms may have restrictions on the type of transfers they accept. For transactions like home closings or brokerage deals, wire transfers might be preferred over ACH transfers. Bank of America emphasizes that they are not liable for delays or errors if the transfers were made based on the customer's online instructions. ACH, short for Automated Clearing House, is an electronic funds transfer system connecting U.S. banks for quick batch processing, which is faster than traditional checks. Bank of America provides ACH transfers with two delivery options: Next Business Day and Three Business Day delivery, subject to specific cut-off times. You can find more information in the Online Banking Service Agreement.

I lost my purse with everything in it, including my phone for verification. It's stressful dealing with theft, and not having access to my phone to verify myself is frustrating. Please ask me the security questions I set up when I opened my account, as it would make sense that a woman in this situation would need extra help. My soon-to-be daughter is upset, and I hope for empathy, compassion, and understanding during this difficult time. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I had a good experience with Wells Fargo when my phone and wallet were stolen, so I hope Bank of America can be just as helpful. Thank you.

I would like to address the situation with T-Mobile debiting my checking account without my consent. My son, who is the primary account holder, and I, an authorized user, had already paid our portions of the bill ahead of the due date. However, when I tried to make my half payment on 02/28/19 through the T-Mobile app, it malfunctioned and debited my account twice - once for my half and once for my son's, causing an overdraw and affecting my planned expenses for my pet's euthanasia and cremation. Despite contacting T-Mobile to resolve the issue, it took them too long to return the funds. To make matters worse, they debited my account once again without notice. I have filed claims, but their handling of the situation and threats to disconnect my service are distressing. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This is an update regarding a fraud incident that occurred on 03/25/19. My name is Lewis Jackson, residing at [redacted] Treybourne Drive, Reidsville NC, [redacted]. My password is "Misty." My Social Security Number is [redacted]69. The account number affected is 5[redacted] 5[redacted]. Unauthorized online banking advances of $3,[redacted].99 and $6,[redacted] were made to new accounts with replacement cards that were sent the following week. The perpetrators opened a fraudulent checking account with an initial deposit of $9,[redacted].99, which was closed around 04/15/19 without any activity. I appreciate the swift action taken to reverse these transactions. The scammers took advantage of my relationship with Microsoft, claiming a refund due to account closure for computer maintenance services. Thankfully, the fraud was detected, and my credit has been frozen with a one-year caution on further credit transactions. Thank you for your assistance. Lewis

I am seeking information regarding when I opened my ACH routing number. Recently, I received a notification from Amazon claiming they transferred $[redacted].39 to my Bank of America account on 07/11/[redacted]. I have no record of this transfer as I believe I did not have an ACH routing number at that time. Amazon has never deposited money into my account, causing issues with Bank of America and affecting three credits, resulting in nearly $4,[redacted] being held for over two years. Any details on when the ACH routing number was established would be greatly appreciated. I neglected to provide my name at the beginning; I am Oscar Alfredo Pazos. For further information, please reach out.

I recently received a new debit card with a design that was changed, and I do not like it. When I got my card previously, I had the option to choose, but this time I wasn't consulted. Is there a way for me to see the standard designs online or at my local branch before destroying this one?
I tried various methods to speak to someone but was unsuccessful. I submitted a complaint and waited for a day. The next day, I saw a message online saying "PROBLEM FIXED" with a green check mark. It seems like there are improvements needed in customer service and communication. Thank you for your assistance.

I attempted to purchase a Nigeria jersey from the [redacted] World Cup, but after entering my credit card details and placing the order, I discovered negative reviews mentioning the website was fake. Upon revisiting the site, I noticed the information tab was non-functional, confirming it was indeed a scam. Feeling uneasy about my previous order for a fanny pack, I promptly ordered a genuine jersey from Amazon. Seeking guidance on the issue, I researched until about 9-9:30 pm and plan to contact Bank of America in the morning given the situation.

On Tuesday, May 7th, I visited my regular merchant business and encountered a situation where only one teller was assisting six customers ahead of me. A customer ahead started voicing dissatisfaction with the branch's service, and I also shared that the lack of care was noticeable, citing instances where I had been turned away due to insufficient staffing. Meanwhile, the branch manager was debating with another staff member about customers using electronic services. After a 16-minute wait, I completed my transaction and exited. However, to my surprise, today I was falsely accused of starting an argument and threatened with a ban by another manager during a deposit. This incident occurred at the Cave Creek and Hatcher branch in Cave Creek, Arizona. I feel disheartened by the treatment received and expected better from Bank of America. It seems they prioritize new accounts over serving existing merchants promptly. It's unjust that I was targeted for merely sharing a common sentiment. I am considering changing my business account location or adjusting my deposit routine to avoid further issues.

I am a South African with an offshore internet banking account. I am facing issues with fraud related to my account at the [redacted] Santa Monica Blvd West Branch in Los Angeles. I have been trying to report this matter to Bank of America for several days but have not found a way to do so on the website. In [redacted], I opened an account at this branch with the help of account officer James Brain. He introduced me to an attorney, Dave Ramsey from Newport Beach. Recently, the branch issued an ATM card to Ramsey without my knowledge or consent. Ramsey has disappeared with the card, which has led me to believe there may be a connection between the bank official and Ramsey. To add to this, my internet account website has been compromised, and I am unable to access it anymore. My account number, issued by James Brain, is 9[redacted] [redacted]. I urgently need to convey this information to Bank of America.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have made multiple attempts to contact you without success. Despite reaching out to your embassy and receiving no assistance, I still need assistance with transferring funds from A/c number [redacted] to Citibank via Nedbank in South Africa. The lack of communication is concerning, especially when I can communicate with Citibank but not with you or J.P. Morgan. I kindly request the transfer to Citibank deposit account xxxxxx7894. I am willing to provide all necessary credentials promptly if given the means to do so. Your prompt response on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jonathan D. Webb

Re: Overdraw Penalty for $35 on May 7 Regarding $[redacted] Rent Payment for Lutheran Towers.
I was under the impression that the payment for my rent was processed on April 26, 11 days prior, based on my checking account statement. Overdrawing is not a common occurrence for me, and I always ensure that a payment made through "Bill Pay" is confirmed before considering it settled. I kindly request a refund of the penalty fee.
I have been a loyal customer for many years and have served as a director at The Citizens Bank for two decades. I was also part of the five percent leadership at C&S Bank of Atlanta before it was acquired by Bank of America.
