Good afternoon. My sons, R.B.B. and B.L.B.B., traveled with American Airlines on 01/20/[redacted] (AA [redacted]) and returned to Brazil on 02/03/[redacted] (AA [redacted]) from Miami with my cousin, A.S.B.R. Upon arriving in Campos dos Goytacazes, I noticed that one of their large suitcases, despite being wrapped at the Miami airport, arrived in Brazil severely damaged. The suitcase's locks were broken, and the outer trim was torn. I arranged for my friend to travel and visit me in Tampa. Despite being fully aware of American Airlines' poor reputation, why can't they rebook passengers on more reliable carriers when facing constant delays. My friend was supposed to arrive at 9:30 pm, leaving Minneapolis at 2pm. He's been stuck in Chicago waiting to get here. The reason provided for the delay due to a lack of flight attendants seemed untrue.
American Airlines needs to improve or consider shutting down. Delta Airlines stands out as reliable and well-liked, unlike the continuous issues with American Airlines. I, in my 50s, had a poor experience with American Airlines, facing a 6-hour delay and landing at a different airport. It's time for American Airlines to make significant changes for the benefit of passengers.

I flew from POS to FLL on January 14th and returned on January 18th. Unfortunately, my luggage was damaged during the trip. I tried calling the office, but the first agent couldn't resolve the issue, and I got cut off while on hold. When I called back, another agent said the person who could help me was busy and promised a return call. However, I have not received any callback yet. When I checked the baggage claim search online, it showed a message saying there was no record matching my information. I provided my details for the search, but I prefer not to share my ID online. My flight from Augusta, GA to Charlotte, NC was canceled on Thursday, February 6, [redacted], and rescheduled for Charlotte on February 7, [redacted]. I waited in the Augusta airport for 5 hours before being informed of the cancellation, which led to $60.00 in Lyft fees to return home. Subsequently, I had to pay $50.00 for a three-hour drive to the Charlotte airport on February 7, where my flight was delayed for 5 hours before being canceled again and rebooked for 10:17 PM. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait due to a funeral I needed to attend. I received no food vouchers or future travel vouchers. I had to cancel the flight and book with Delta to arrive on time. This experience was frustrating, and I request a refund for the ticket, reimbursement for the wasted gas, and the $30.00 luggage fee. I traveled from Cville VA to Tucson on February 1 for a much-needed relaxation trip to El Conquistador. Unfortunately, American Airlines lost my luggage, and I didn't receive it until after 5 pm on February 2nd. Regrettably, this ruined my plans as I suffer from severe rheumatoid arthritis and couldn't enjoy any of the amenities without my belongings. I've already sent an email outlining my complaint and requesting reimbursement for the two nights at the hotel. The airline suggested purchasing replacement clothes, but the time and expense involved would have exceeded the cost of my stay.

On February 10, [redacted], Flight AA4781 from PHL to BWI was canceled. Despite this, we remained on the plane/runway for over an hour. Unfortunately, there were no other flights scheduled for that evening. We had to wait for our luggage for over an hour as the baggage claim had closed for the night. Due to factors beyond my control, I couldn't take the next day's flight from PHL to DCA since my car was parked at BWI. So, I rented a car from AVIS and drove to BWI. I'm seeking reimbursement for the flight from PHL to BWI, rental car expenses, gas, and tolls incurred due to this situation.

I made a reservation for an American Airlines flight a month ago. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of care and responsibility shown by the American Airlines disability assistance team when transferring my spastic quadriplegic daughter onto the airplane. Despite my clear verbal instructions for them to secure her seatbelt, they neglected to do so, resulting in a severe incident where she fell and sustained significant injuries. Despite reaching out to customer relations and providing witness accounts confirming the events, American Airlines failed to take appropriate action and even tried to shift blame onto my daughter and her attendant. This treatment is unacceptable, and I will not rest until justice is served. I have gathered evidence, including photos of the injuries and witness statements, to support our case. American Airlines must address this issue promptly and ensure that such negligence is not repeated, especially when dealing with vulnerable passengers requiring special assistance.

I had a trip planned to Iran in February. My itinerary included a flight from LAX to LHR with American Airlines, and then a connecting flight to Tehran via Turkish Airlines with a layover in Istanbul. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, all flights to Iran were canceled. Turkish Airlines has agreed to refund me for the canceled flight. The first part of my ticket was purchased through Just Fly, who advised me to reach out to American Airlines directly. American Airlines informed me that they can change the travel date, but given the current uncertainty and lack of flights to Iran, I prefer to receive a credit for future use. On February 29, while checking in three guests at our accommodation, I noticed that my boarding group was different from my sister and cousin's. I was in group 4, and they were in group 6. The receipt I received indicated a charge of $19.64 for priority seating, which I did not select or see as an option during check-in. The ticket agent at Richmond Airport confirmed it was for priority seating, but I did not intend to choose this option as I wanted to seat next to my sister. I've recently had two surgeries close to my upcoming flight to Costa Rica on flight [redacted] departing from Chicago on March 14th. The most recent surgery was just a week before our trip. Although my ticket states I can walk but not do steps, my mobility has changed. I can only walk from the entrance of the plane to my seat. I've noticed that the ticket information repeatedly mentions walking except upstairs, which is no longer accurate. I'll be using a motorized scooter for assistance as usual.

I contacted American Airlines regarding my recent travel issue. They credited my account and my wife's Aadvantage account with 10,[redacted] miles, which I find inadequate. I have not received any responses to my follow-up emails, and I feel ignored. I have been a loyal American flyer and AAdvantage member for over 30 years. Due to the travel nightmare caused by American, I am considering switching to United. I was traveling with my wife J., and our children F. and C. on record locators BIQNIE and MGPYTX. Our itinerary from ORD to RDU to LHR on Dec. 22, [redacted], was severely disrupted by delays and a cancellation due to mechanical issues. Despite our efforts to find alternative flights, we were left on our own to make arrangements. The rebooking process was chaotic, resulting in us being split onto different flights, causing significant delays and stress. This situation also led to additional expenses for taxis and car rentals in London. I am requesting a full refund of $[redacted].30 spent on BIQNIE and MGPYTX.

I am trying to secure a reservation for my 15-year-old daughter from Miami International Airport to San Jose, Costa Rica on Flight [redacted] scheduled for July 16th. Unfortunately, my calls keep getting disconnected, and despite navigating the phone tree, I am repeatedly informed of long wait times and then disconnected. I wish there was an option to hold or receive a callback.
Many airlines allow online bookings for minors, but it appears American Airlines requires booking minors over the phone due to their policy. This experience has left me feeling frustrated since I am directed to handle everything online, which creates a loop of being unable to finalize my daughter's reservation. If given a choice, I would prefer not to deal with these complications and book with another airline.

We had purchased a roundtrip ticket for my mother-in-law to travel with us from Burlington, VT to Fort Myers, FL on 3/11, returning on 3/18. Unfortunately, she can no longer make the trip due to scheduled surgery on 3/12. We'd like to switch her name on the ticket to our daughter's boyfriend, who could join us instead. Despite contacting Expedia and speaking with American Airlines, we were informed that changing the name on the ticket is against policy. We're frustrated as we've already paid for the tickets and purchased insurance. It seems unreasonable that we can't make a simple change like this.

We are currently in Florence, Italy, and were scheduled to fly back to Minneapolis, USA, on April 9th. Due to the current situation with the coronavirus, we are looking to return to MSP as soon as possible. I received an email from customer service regarding our VCR note on reservation DLOZCB, which waived the change fee. We are now located in Florence but can make our way to Rome. I am hoping to arrange a Barcelona to MSP flight at the earliest opportunity. Vueling Air offers a flight from Florence to Barcelona arriving at 2:15 pm, and our original flight (41) from Barcelona to MSP departs at 3:30 pm.
