Before calling Alamo, it's important to know that Alamo and Enterprise are one company and have been since 2007. Even though both brands maintain separate identities at the airport and at rental facilities, both are under the same corporate umbrella, so you might hear a representative welcome you to Enterprise instead of Alamo when you call this number.
Calling this number was very straightforward; I was connected with a representative almost immediately. When I gave them my information, they asked how they could assist me, and I said that I was looking to rent a car in Jacksonville and leave it in Atlanta. I let them know I was looking for information as to how much it would cost me for a one-way rental.
The representative was confused at first and thought I had already made a reservation, asking me for my reservation number. When I told her that I hadn't yet made a reservation, she immediately understood the situation and said that she would begin setting up a quote for me.
She asked what kind of car I planned on renting for this trip, and I told her that I'd be fine with a compact or an intermediate. She told me that in my case, I'd be paying a higher rate for the one-way rental, and it would be a per-day rate as opposed to one large fee. I told her that I understood how it worked, and she said that the quote would come out to be $169 per day.
She then added that if I had gone with just a return to the Jacksonville location, the cost would be just $61 per day, and said it would always cost more with a one-way rental. She then asked if I had any more questions about a potential rental, and I said I did not. I then thanked her for walking me through it and told her I would need to think about the rate. She said that she understood and thanked me for considering Enterprise, then ended the call.
Overall, I thought this was a very productive call that gave me a lot of good information. I didn't have any issue getting through to a representative, and once I got connected with someone, I was able to get my questions out and actually get legitimate help. The representative seemed genuinely interested in helping me and went through all of the details with me, despite knowing that I wasn't likely to make a reservation that day. She answered all of my questions thoroughly, made sure that I had a clear picture of what I would be paying and why and maintained a genuinely pleasant demeanor throughout the call.
Even though you're getting Enterprise and not Alamo when you call this number, the fact that both companies are under one umbrella means that both are interchangeable with their customer service. Based off this interaction, I'd be very comfortable calling this number for assistance.
