Selling Coins/Clolsing the Trade

You often hear the question, "Can you even sell coins on eToro?" The reason some may think traders can't sell is because terminology can be confusing. eToro doesn't label selling as "selling," rather it is called "closing the trade." Below are steps to "closing the trade."

1. Open eToro in your browser and log into your account.
2. Click "Portfolio" on the left-hand side of your screen.
3. Select the coin you want to sell from the list in your portfolio.
4. Look for the red X beside the crypto you want to sell and click that to "close the trade" or sell your crypto.
5. Once you've closed the trade, the fiat amount for the sell will be placed in your eToro account.

Closing Part of a Trade

eToro also allows users to close part of a trade instead of all of it. To close part of a trade, follow these steps:

1. Open eToro in your browser and log into your account.
2. Make sure the part you are closing and the part remaining open meet the minimum trade size requirements on eToro.
3. Click on "Portfolio."
4. Select the coin you wish to close.
5. Click the red X beside the coin you want to close and select "close only part of the trade" in the summary that opens.
6. Enter or select the amount you want to close.
7. Click "Close Trade" to complete the process.
8. The amount closed will be converted to fiat in your account.
