How Do I Book a Round Trip Uber Ride?

You save more when you use a single ride for one trip and back compared to using two different passages. However, remember that the Uber driver makes more when they get multiple ride requests; therefore, your third destination stop should not take more than three minutes as the driver may cancel the request and move on. When you have more than three stops, consider booking a different ride back; you will save more this way.

Since its establishment, Uber has evolved in more ways than one, from its multiple-choice ride type to delivering fast food. A simple procedure is all it takes to get a ride. The central question is, why to take multiple rides when you can use one ride for one trip and back. There is no formal way of doing it, but there are some steps you can use to get a round trip. There is no discount given for a round trip, but it is less costly than multiple ride trips.

What is a round trip?

It a trip from point A to B, then from B to A through the same route and ride. There is no need to get a different ride for the trip back. It helps you save more. The Uber ride round trip mostly works for a maximum of three destinations.

Single trip

  • Open the uber ride up
  • Follow the usual booking procedure from one destination to another.
  • Add your current address,
  • Then tap on the where to option and enter your destination.

Round trip

  • After booking for a usual ride, now tap on the 'add or change' space.
  • Add the third destination on your trip. Suppose you were moving from your house to pick a parcel or a friend, the third destination will be back to your home.

Adding a new destination when on the go

When you forget to add a third destination or want to change your current destination:

  • Tap on the driver's info at the bottom of your screen on your Uber Ride app.
  • Under your current trip, tap on the ‘add or change' option.
  • Add a different destination or change your current one. However, depending on the new destination's mileage and the time it takes to get there, the whole trip's pricing might change.

Additional tips

Be sure to add a third destination in time, and failure might lead to the driver getting a new request. Another thing is that the stop on the in-between destination should take no at most three minutes as the driver might not wait longer than that, forcing you to get another ride.

The meter still runs on the stop, meaning that you will get charged for those minutes the driver waits for you. If you plan to run a bank errand or go shopping, this ride may not work for you.

If you have no than one in between destination, for example, from your house to a friend's house, to the mall, then to another friend's house, then back to your home, this kind of a round trip might be more costly. That is why it is advisable to book a new ride back.

For uber, a ride choice such as Uber Pool does not allow for multiple destination rides; however, you can book such a ride from Uber X or any other ride.
