How Do I Track My Target Return?

Most Target returns made through the mobile app or website are facilitated by UPS. Use your UPS tracking number to track your return to Target. For some special items, Target uses EFW for shipping; speak with your EFW customer service representative when arranging for pickup. If nothing else works, contact Target Customer Service directly.

If you purchased an unsatisfactory item from Target.com or using the Target mobile app, you have several ways to track your return.

In Person

If you don't wish to bother with tracking a return, you may return any item purchased from the website or the app to an in-person store. Simply bring the item, in its original packaging, along with your receipt or other proof of purchase to the Customer Service Desk at any Target store. This method allows for a direct return - no tracking needed.

UPS

For most purchases made through the website or app, you will be returning your item via UPS. Initiate the return by accessing your account, then your order history, then selecting the item in question. You will be asked for a reason for the return. Once you complete this process, Target will provide you with a shipping label to return the item at no cost to you. Be advised that this also provides you with a bar code, and your return cannot be processed without this bar code - you should not simply ship items back yourself.

Like with all shipments, UPS issues each package a tracking number. As long as you have this tracking number, you can keep track of your return. If you lose this number, contact UPS Customer Service for help.

FedEx/EFW

Some special purchases may be delivered via FedEx or Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW). If you need to return these items, start the process by contacting Target Customer Service. In this case, a Target customer service agent will direct your case to EFW. Within two days, an EFW agent should contact you and arrange for pickup of your item. If you wish to track your return, speak with the EFW customer service representative for guidance on how to do that.

Other

If your problem isn't covered here, you should contact Target Customer Service directly. Have as much information to hand as possible, including what the item was, when you purchased it, when you returned it, and by what method.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Target Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Target in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Track My Target Return? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
