InterContinental Hotels, also called IHG, is a multinational hotel and resort company operating in numerous locations around the globe. Here's what you need to know about the company's COVID-19 cancellation and reservation change policies.

Cancellation Rules Vary by Location

IHG operates thousands of destinations worldwide. With so many hotels and resorts, coronavirus policies vary by location. The best way to learn more about cancellation rules at your location is to contact InterContinental's customer support team.

When you call, be ready to provide your reservation confirmation details, including your check-in date and any confirmation numbers.

You can also check your reservation confirmation email for more information. Some locations may charge a fee if you cancel too late. Others will provide a full refund.

If you're entitled to a refund after canceling, IHG will process it within 90 days. In some cases, refunds may be in the form of hotel stay vouchers. You can call IHG's worldwide reservation helpline to learn more about how you will receive your refund.

There Are No Change Fees for Bookings Made Directly With IHG

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, IHG implemented several new reservation change rules to help customers travel safely. Currently, all reservations made directly with IHG (including through the website, by phone or in person) can be changed without any fees prior to the location's cancellation deadline. There may be fees if you cancel after that deadline.

Bookings made through third-party services do not apply.

You can learn more about your reservation's cancellation deadline by checking your confirmation email or by calling InterContinental's customer service phone number.

If you decide to change your reservation dates, your new reservation may be subject to new pricing based.

Regional Regulations May Impact Cancellation and Change Rules

IHG notes that COVID-related regulations may impact cancellation policies in some areas. These may include local, state, national or territorial pandemic guidelines. In this case, you should contact your destination to learn more about local COVID-19 rules and how they impact your reservation.
