Introduction

If you want to reduce your monthly expenses, the best way to start doing so is by figuring out how you can lower your monthly bills. If you are signed up for one or more services from Xfinity, you have a few different things you can do to lower your bill. At least one of them should work out for you.

What You'll Need

Xfinity offers a plan builder tool that you can use to build a customized plan with minimal cost.To get the autopay/paperless billing discount, you must be signed up for Xfinity internet service.

Go to the websites of Xfinity's major competitors and look for any current promotions or sign-up deals they are offering, as well as their current rates.

It is easier to get Xfinity to lower your bill if you can make the idea that you are about to cancel your service and go elsewhere believable. You will be most likely to succeed at this when you have been with the company for more than a year.

Call an Xfinity customer service agent and ask if there is any way to get a lower rate.

Go to the Xfinity home page.

Xfinity home page

Click on the Sign In button located in the upper right corner of the page to sign in to your Xfinity account.

Click on the "Billing & Pay" option from the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

Select the "Manage Paperless Billing" option.

Click on "Turn On."

Click on the "Billing & Pay" option from the navigation bar.

Select the "Manage Auto Pay" option.

Select a payment method and agree to the terms and conditions.

When asked for the payment details, choose the "bank" option to get payments made directly from your bank account.

Xfinity no longer offers discounts for autopay made through a credit or debit card.

Click on "Set Up."

If you sign up for both the paperless billing and autopay options, you will qualify for a discount of $10 per month. However, it may take up to two billing cycles for this to be reflected in your bill.

Look at the various services that Xfinity offers and find something cheaper than your current plan.

If you get cable from Xfinity, find a plan with fewer stations, or without certain premium stations. If you use Xfinity internet, find a plan with a lower speed. If you get mobile services, look for something with less data. Try to only pay for the bare minimum that you absolutely need. If you find a better plan, cancel your current plan and sign up for the new one.

Find equipment for sale that is compatible with Xfinity and buy it.

Buying your own modem and router, for example, instead of renting them from Xfinity, will reduce your monthly bill. It means spending more money right now, but in the long run, it will lower your bill and save you money.

Conclusion

If you have any questions, call an Xfinity customer service representative to ask them. The customer serf vice center is open from Monday to Saturday from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. It is not open on Sundays.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Comcast Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
