May 18, 2022

Even when you've taken precautions and used the available security features on Bittrex, your account may still be hacked. What do you do if you've been hacked? How do you recover a hacked Bittrex account? You can learn more about Bittrex account security by contacting user support here, and below is information you need if your account has been hacked.

Steps to Prevent Your Account from being Hacked

There are some things you can do to protect your account and prevent hacking. These include the following:

  • Utilize all the security features available on Bittrex such as email verification and two-factor authorization. These features help make it harder for hackers to steal your information.
  • When you are logging into you Bittrex account, make sure you are on the exchange's official website. Look-alike sites are designed to steal your login credentials making it easier for hackers to access you account.
  • Only use secured browsers when logging into your account.
  • Do not provide information via email if you receive one claiming to be from Bittrex asking for your user ID, password or two-factor authentication code. These phishing techniques are how hackers most often get unauthorized access to accounts.
  • Don't use the same user ID and password for Bittrex that you use on other websites. If any of those other sites are compromised, and you've used the same login credentials, hackers can gain access to your Bittrex account.

A hacked account doesn't necessarily mean you have been locked out. You may still be able to log into your account and see what damage has been done. Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Bittrex Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
