Tumblr Customer Service

After several tries over a few days, it seems that this number is disconnected. The call didn't even connect long enough to ring; my phone disconnected with a message saying, "Call failed." I wasn't able to find any other phone number for Tumblr customer service. There's no further information online on this number and when it may have been disconnected.

Users often contact Tumblr support because they've been locked out of their accounts. It seems that the website often purges bots and inactive accounts, but legitimate users sometimes get caught up as well. If you need to reach them, the only way to do so is through their website. You can submit a ticket describing your issue. This page says that a member of the support team will be in touch, but it doesn't clarify how. Since it doesn't ask for your phone number, they'll likely contact you through email.

Tumblr has two or three separate support systems. One is for troubleshooting, feedback, bugs, and reactivating accounts otherwise in good standing. They have a separate system for reporting violations of their Community Guidelines. If an account is banned for a violation, the user receives an email telling them why and providing a way to contact support. It's unclear whether this is a third route or the same method used to report violations.

They have information on troubleshooting, their Community Guidelines, common account issues, and tutorials on using the blogging site. There's also an automated chatbot that can help you find relevant articles. The "Contact Support" button takes you to the form to submit a ticket.

From what I can find online, Tumblr seems to have a small support team that's often overwhelmed. Many users report long delays after submitting tickets. In particular, locked accounts appear to be a huge strain on the system. They've added a new account recovery form to their website, but it seems it's only for forgotten passwords. If your account has been locked, you need to submit a ticket. 

Other community-based websites have created sub-communities for various Tumblr issues. The most frequent advice there is to tweet both Tumblr and Tumblr Support. Unfortunately, there isn't a great option if you need to contact Tumblr. Using the ticket system or tweeting them is your best bet. They don't offer any phone numbers or callbacks.
