Sweetwater.com operates the call center for this 800-222-4700 phone number Mon-Thu 9am-10pm, Fri 9am-8pm, Sat 9am-7pm, Sun 11am-5pm ET. The short answer is that you should call on a Wednesday. An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Sweetwater.com phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Sweetwater.com staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.
The least busy time to call
The least busy day to call Sweetwater.com is Wednesday. The most busy day to call is Thursday. Again, this is based on a sample of 37 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.
The shortest wait on hold
We measured the shortest hold times to be on Friday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Thursday.
The best time to call
In summation, the best day to call Sweetwater.com is Wednesday. This is not the day with the shortest wait on hold in the phone system, but we still recommend it for its ideal combination of low call volume and short hold times. Plus we believe that Sweetwater.com staffs the call center well on Wednesday.
Once again, please put this information in perspective because this phone number has no phone menu or long waits. It generally gets picked up right away if calling during their opening hours. If there is any way, it will typically be very short.

My Experience Calling 800-222-4700

Sep 11, 2023

Calling Sweetwater.com was surprisingly one of the best experiences I have ever had with any company. While you would not think that a guitar center would have it together when it comes to technical support, this company has it together. I have frequently called many technical companies, and their real-life support is pitiful or requires you to go online to talk to someone. If I wanted to talk to someone online, I would do that in the first place. This is why my expectations for calling Sweetwater were low, but I was pleasantly surprised.

There are a dozen reasons why someone might call Sweetwater. They may need help with an order, may want to check on the delivery timeframe, may have a complaint about a damaged item due to poor shipping quality, or may just want information about a product that they are looking at purchasing. I fell into the second group. I wanted to discuss a guitar I saw online as part of their promotion and discuss the financing options. With so many different potential concerns, including completely different instruments, there was a high potential for different directory trees, but there were none.

Instead, when I called the phone number, it immediately thanked me for calling Sweetwater and then told me "If I know the extension of the caller you wish to reach, you may dial it now." Then there was just silence. For a second, I wondered if it was going to hang up on me, but then someone picked up the phone. She was very gracious and thanked me for calling and asked who I had the pleasure of talking with today.

It only took me 25 seconds from the moment I made the phone call to the minute she picked up to talk to someone. This in itself was amazing to me. The agent was also very helpful. First, I asked her some questions about the guitar I had in mind, and then I asked her about the shipping materials used because I was concerned about the instrument being properly protected during the shipping process. For the cost of the guitar, I didn't want anything altering its sound protection. Then we talked about the financing options, and I was surprised that she was able to handle all three questions and didn't transfer me to another agent. I would not think twice about calling back if I had any other questions.
