What are the hours and when should I call?

Hearst Magazines operates the call center for this 800-888-0828 phone number 24 hours, 7 days. The short answer is that you should call on a Wednesday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 384 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).

Automatically call when they open

When you use our free AI-powered phone to call and talk, wait on hold, or navigate for you, it will automatically wait until the Hearst Magazines call center opens before trying to call. It will ask your permission before it places the call, so you can also further delay that scheduled call until you are ready. But that means you can "set it and forget it" ahead of time.
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Hearst Magazines phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Hearst Magazines staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

The least busy time to call

The least busy day to call Hearst Magazines is Sunday. The most busy day to call is Thursday, which averages 322% more phone calls by comparison. Again, this is based on a sample of 384 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

Calling this Hearst Magazines Customer Number

Calling this number was actually far more difficult than I expected, as the customer service representative didn't seem to be listening to anything I said. When I called, I was asked to provide my customer information with my subscription number, which I was able to find and gave them.

Despite the system confirming my identity and my using the system to confirm my expiration date for my Food Network magazine subscription, I was asked to provide my name and address again when I got on the phone with a representative. Not only did I have to provide my information again here, but I had to do it an extra time when the representative completely misheard my name and misspelled it.

I was then asked how she could assist me, and I told her that I had missed the October 2023 issue of my subscription and wanted to get a copy to complete my collection of Food Network magazine. The representative said she would check to see if they had the magazine in stock, but first needed me to tell me what issue I had missed. I told her it was the issue I had just told her, October 2023.

To her credit, she was able to find the issue and confirm that it was not in stock at this time. She said that she would let me know when the issue was in stock, and as a courtesy for the missed issue, she would extend my subscription for a month. I thanked her for that, and she asked if I'd be interested in subscribing to Town and Country magazine. I said no, and she then thanked me for calling and ended the call.

While I remain a loyal subscriber, I wasn't impressed with the service I got here. If I didn't enjoy Food Network magazine as much as I do, this call would have me questioning my subscription.
