What are the hours and when should I call?

Amway operates the call center for this 800-253-6500 phone number Mon-Fri 9am-11pm ET. The short answer is that you should call on a Thursday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 83 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Amway phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Amway staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

The least busy day to call Amway is Thursday. The most busy day to call is Tuesday, which averages 122% more phone calls by comparison. Again, this is based on a sample of 83 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

My Experience Calling 800-253-6500

Feb 28, 2024

I once purchased a beauty cream from a co-worker who sold Amway at my old job, and I really liked that cream. However, eventually, it ran out and I didn't give it too much thought. My face has not been quite as clear since, and I really want to buy the same cream. I've changed jobs since then and have no idea how to get ahold of the co-worker so I thought that I would try just calling the company directly. I never thought much about Amway one way or another, but the cream was very helpful and now I wonder about a few of the other products as well.

Since I don't know anyone selling it, directly calling the company seemed like the best bet. Plus, I didn't want to use their tool to find a local salesperson because then I would have to deal with someone who was trying to oversell me on their products. I just wanted the few things I wanted. I know that Amway is a large company like Avon, but I don't know much about it other than that so I didn't have many expectations going into the call.

When I called, I was immediately greeted by a voice assistant who said, "Thank you for calling Amway customer service. Press 1 if you are an IOB. Press 2 if you are a customer." I pressed 2 and it took a few seconds, and I wasn't sure what was going to happen but then a voice finally said, "This call may be recorded for quality or training purposes." I didn't even have to wait, because after that transfer, the phone started to ring right away and an agent named Christina picked up. I was pretty amazed that I was able to talk to someone in sales this quickly.

My only complaint is that this woman was clearly not a native English speaker despite the name. She had a very thick accent and I had to listen very carefully and ask her to repeat herself a few times. However, she was very polite and patient and worked through my questions at a pace that I could understand. All in all, I was most impressed that it only took me about 30 seconds to get to a live agent, and I don't think there are very many companies that can offer that type of support. They may be a sales-focused company, but they sure got my sales. I will call back if I run out of the face cream again.

This can entail digging through help articles before finding a form and "being allowed" to submit a problem to their team, and rarely leads to a real-time conversation, which is why GetHuman does not recommend this unless it's the only way.
