Our Whirlpool energysmart ** gallon water heater was installed on *-**-****,purchased from Lowe's Home Improvement in Lenoir, N.C. with a * year warranty at a cost of $***.**. The warranty and energysmart were our deciding factors in purchasing this model *ES**R**-**D, serial * *************.Early this December it quit producing hot water and we contacted the phone number on the Use and Care Guide instructions. We were told we couldn't have a service call until December **,****. Really?! After * more phone calls we were instructed to get someone locally to fix it and send in the invoice for refund of parts. House visits from two different plumbers indicated that they weren't familiar with this type of water heater and Lowe's said the part probably would have to be ordered from the manufacturer .In the grand scheme of things(earthquakes, volcanoes,starvation)this is no biggie BUT a promise from Whirlpool was made and there was nothing to indicate in the service booklet that we would have to wait so long for a repair. We do not live in the back of beyond but had this issue been addressed by an executive or employee of Whirlpool , I am sure it would have been addressed in a much more timely manner.We cancelled the appointment on **-** **** and received confirmation of cancellation.*We FINALLY had the Whirlpool water heater replaced completely with another brand in frustration.*I just think refund of depreciation or something should be done.You really need to change your service company(A and E Factory Service) or have a come to Jesus meeting with them.*Pat Hatfield
