Booked flight houston to quito IAH -UIO*Ticket no ************* to do a galapagos trip.*Dates of flights july **, return august *.*I had Injured my leg badly , and had to cancel that flight ( not poss to do it in a wheelchair )*I have a drs letter to verify.*I had booked it via expedia , their itinery no was *************.*I was able to cancel my flight by talking to expedia agent ( michael, i think ), who then connected us both to united agent josh, explained the situation , re the need to cancel the trip.*It was cancelled on july ** Th.*I had arranged at a cost,for my daughter jacquelyn wren to take my place on the galapagos trip, and wanted to see if she could take my place on the united exchanging the ticket.*I was told this was not allowed, *I asked about a refund ,, since i was medically unable to go on the trip., and josh said he didnt know but could probably help me once i further communicated with united.*As it was i had to pay for another ticket IAH-UIO , very same flight , ie united airlines, for her to go in my place.*In effect i ended up paying for * IAH -UIO , ( total around **** $ ,) because united would not permit the echange of ticket.*I cancelled in plenty of time for them to resell the cancelled ticket, ( ** days prior to the flight ) *But still ended up paying for both.*In effect my daughter took my flight, but it cost me twice the price.*I am seeking a refund .*I asked josh re a refund, as the my cancelled fare cost me ****$.,, *There is no point in giving me a replacement ticket to quito, as i will never be able to go due to needing a wheel chair in that situation., *I sometimes go YYJ-IAH to visit my daughter, and usually take a united , or a code share AC to get there, as i can do that using a wheel chair, as i can walk enough to ' board ' the plane , sometimes with help.*What do i do re getting a refund.*My cell phone is *-***-***-****, and my email is franceswren*@gmail .com*I look forward to your considered response.*Thank you *Frances wren
