The issue in GetHuman-wangbria's own words
Waad the driver drove into and out of the *** and *** toll roads in Orange County multiple times and told me that he had a new car with no license plate set up yet so he could get fined for more than *** dollars! More than $*** for not having a license plate visible to cameras in the toll roads. The more he discussed with me about the toll fee, the more frustrated he became and was visibly disappointed at me for having to bring him to Pomona from La Jolla, San Diego. I felt helpless, anxious and uncomfortable because I wasn’t sure what to do and I did not have much to pay Waad. I had some $** Starbucks Christmas gift cards with me that I was bringing to my family as gifts so I decided to sacrifice them to give to Waad to pay for his toll road fines. Also, Waad told me that he was paid by Uber to drive more than *** miles from La Jolla to Pomona with pay but his two hour’s *** miles trip back home will be without pay! He would be paying out of pocket for his time, gas, and energy. This is ridiculous! I am disappointed in Uber that these issues had arisen tonight. I love Uber and Ubereats and I use them with my friends and family all the time but after tonight, I am hesitant to try Uber and Ubereats again. I am scarred from tonight’s ride that had I not have any money or gift cards with me to defuse the situation, I would be in a hot mess and Waad would be super angry at me for not being able to pay up! Please be responsible, Uber, and pay these drivers the salary they would need to make their trips back, especially for those going more than ** miles of radius.
