I've no other way to express my concerns to the staff directly. ... I'm having a problem with some of the things you're flagging. This is a post I saw on my feed, I regularly visit because she's funny and expressive and devoutly protects her rights.**http:**twistedsimblr.tumblr.com*post**************berrysweetboutique-i-reblogged-her-lovely-topless **This link in particular, while I don't agree with her wording, I agree with her that nipples should not be shamed. We talk of being an enlightened society and here you're allowing violent images, vocalized hate groups are still here, but your company is not allowing a nipple? A thing symbolizing life and love, a thing that is sustenance to a child and the epitome of womanhood and now it's unacceptable?**I think this image shouldn't be considered lewd or obscene. When I first saw it before I read the text, it made me think of breast cancer awareness. I've had breast cancer and cancer in general really attack my family. to the point where I have anxiety about my family not getting checked up... I believe awareness even if it's just a flash of a pink ribbon is important isn't it? I lost my mother, nearly lost my cousin and my dog...and my aunt is losing her battle. I strongly feel that any form of awareness is important to me. **The image is a woman wrapped up in a pink bow showing one breast. She's not in a sexual act, she's not showing any genitalia and quite frankly I've seen more lewd pictures in a museum. **Please take a look at this image and reconsider what you're trying to correct. Tell folks why it's unacceptable... instead of using a default generalized text. We need to understand why it's unacceptable. Is it because of the image or because your company is fighting an influx of aggression in your efforts to make things better. **I truly want Tumblr to get better, but this doesn't feel like the right message I'd want children to learn.
I think the algorithm and the team reviewing things aren't really taking a hard look at it. Some things are ok, other things are not. Some things are the same and one will be flagged and the other will not. It's confusing to us.
Make it right by really looking hard at the images that are being flagged. Perhaps take a moment to explain why something is unacceptable rather than a canned answer. People will never understand if you can't explain in detail.
I've been here for about three years. I do my best to stay in line with the terms of service and I truly like many of the folks I met here.
There's nothing to try. This is more of an opinion and request to the tumblr team to reconsider their rules on what is acceptable and what is not.
