How Do I Report Someone Posting Inappropriate Pictures on Tumblr?
Tumblr has a lot of rules about what users can and can't post there. Despite these guidelines, though, people sometimes post inappropriate pictures there. If you see something that violates Tumblr's guidelines, you can report it so that Tumblr's admins can take it down. Keep reading to learn more.
Tumblr's Posting Rules
Tumblr disallows the following types of pictures:
- Anything that violates a trademark or copyright
- Misattributed pictures
- Pictures that violate other people's privacy
- Pictures showing harm to minors
- Pictures showing any kind of self-harm
- Pictures depicting terrorist activity
- Any kind of violent content
- Any kind of harassing content
- Any picture that violates the law
- Pictures questioning election integrity
- Spam
Reporting an Inappropriate Picture to Tumblr
To report the picture, follow these steps:
- Go the Tumblr website, or get on the app.
- Sign in.
- Go to the image you want to report.
- Copy the URL.
- Tap on the three dots icon.
- Choose Reporting.
- Select the exact nature of the violation from the list of violations on the right.
- Post the URL you copied under Content You Are Reporting.
- Explain in more detail why you think this picture is inappropriate and needs to be removed in the text field provided.
- Enter your name and email address in the text field that says About Yourself.
- Click on the submit button.
Once Tumblr receives your report, it'll review the image and make a decision on whether or not it should be removed within three days. It'll notify you once it does.
