My husband and I purchased a Duvet cover in store $**.** we found a different one online that we decided was better for the winter time so we decided to come in to this location (which was closer to us) to return in instead of the origami store we purchased it over the weekend. My husband forgot his wallet at home and we realized he was the one who made the purchase on his debit card so the customer service rep was giving him a hard time getting cash back. She made it really uncomfortable because she was implying that we needed to have made the purchase at their location in order to receive cash back. I told her I’ve made returns in the past with debit and received cash back and never had an issue. I asked her if that was on the return policy on the back on the reciept which clearly it’s not. She saw how upset we were so we asked to speak to a manager. But this rep kept talking to us, then saying the reciept looked old and because of loss prevention we could’ve easily picked up that reciept off the floor and picked up the item and tried to return it. WOW. First off as soon as you walk in the store the customer service desk is at the very entrance which she saw us walk in with the item, second if MY reciept had the date ******** and we came in tonight ******** to return the blanket everything was on there and it’s clearly legitimate how can you say such a thing. When she saw how upset we got after she said that she kept trying to right her wrongs but the damage was already said and done she clearly wanted to give us a hard time when we paid with debit and we would’ve walked away fine. But she kept talking even when I asked her to please stop talking to us because we would just wait for the manager. STILL she kept on talking. When the manager (who was on the register next to her tuning another customer) came over she overheard everything and just apologized for us “taking it the wrong way” but according to them it’s in the stores best interest to refund it in the debit card rather than cash back, but she Michelle the manager gave us the cash back. Was it worth it? No. I wish I would’ve made my husband drive all the way home for his debit card instead of standing there for feeling belittled and racial profiled. She made us look like thieves and everyone at the checkout line could hear the commotion. I wish it didn’t get to me but it honestly did because we are the customers and we didn’t do anything wrong but simply forgot to bring a debit card when the first person could’ve given us the cash back right away.
