Good afternoon my name is Denise Thomas. I'm trying to contact your corporate office and none of the numbers listed are working. I spoke to several representatives from several branches* when speaking to them they informed me that they did not have the number to the Corporate Office then transferred me to customer service were there was no prompt to talk to a representative if you did not have an account which I don't.. My daughter went to the Sun Trust branch at **** Berry Town Blvd Davenport Florida today May **,**** with a cashiers check that her aunt sent to her* when trying to cash the check it had to be verified that was expected but the young lady took the check verified it and had my daughter standing there without further explanation on why she was waiting so long. Understanding that with the world today precautions must be taken but I was on the phone with my daughter as she asked questions again what was the problem with the long wait and no one would give her an answer on why she was waiting so long. My daughter said her ID was given to the police officers in the bank with out her permission and there were people around her and starring at her ,my daughter felt very uncomfortable and she even asked me if I thought it was because of the color of her skin. My daughter noticed the young lady who had her check took it to another employee and when she asked who was he she replied the" Manager" but come to find out he was the branch investigator Rafael. I believe my daughter was racially profiled and that is not acceptable. What is your protocol with the process of cashing a Cashiers check. My daughter said she felt unsafe and embarrassed by your staff. I will be advising my Aunt to close her account with your bank because no one should have been treated the way my daughter was treated with an uncertainty of what was going on or if her life was in danger because she was treated like a criminal. No* she has not committed any crime so she should have not been treated as so. My Aunt has been a long time customer and this is not acceptable. My daughter name is Tiffany Brown-Smith. I am requesting that a full investigation on this matter be opened. Thank you.
