I am inquiring on behalf of a former Town of Oxford employee who retired 12 years ago and has had health insurance through the town. Due to changes, she will now need to apply for Medicare Part B since her town insurance will end on 12/31/18. She is currently in Florida and has been denied Part B. She needs coverage starting from Jan. 1, [redacted]. Other retirees in similar situations had no issues transitioning to Part B. Is there any specific information or steps she should follow to resolve this quickly? She wants to avoid being uninsured and is confused as to why she is facing difficulties with receiving Part B coverage. Thank you for your help.

My checking account was compromised on November 6, [redacted], and the bank has restricted withdrawals until further notice. To ensure my Social Security check can be deposited without issues, a new account has been opened. However, I need to update my account information with Social Security. I am currently on permanent disability due to Multiple Sclerosis, and I am 58 years old. I started my Medicare coverage on April 1, [redacted]. Initially, my husband's insurance indicated that I wouldn't need Part B as his insurance would cover services usually included in Part B. Consequently, I chose to waive Part B until I turned 65 or until my husband's insurance changed, knowing that I would have a 30-day Special Enrollment Period (SEP) to enroll in Part B. However, in October, my husband's insurance provider informed me that I actually needed Part B as primary coverage due to a policy issue. When I consulted the Social Security office, they mentioned that I would have to wait until July to enroll in Part B and might face a penalty. CMS, on the other hand, informed me that I should qualify for an SEP based on the change in my husband's insurance and could enroll in Part B for January without penalties. Given that I have documentation of continuous coverage until now, can I enroll in Part B now without penalties?

I am 68 years old and currently working. I plan to retire on December 31, [redacted], and would like to confirm if I can apply for Medicare Part B without any penalties. When I turned 65, I only signed up for Part A since I was covered under my husband's health insurance plan as a family member and continue to be covered under his federal health plan as an annuitant. Can you please provide confirmation that I will not face any penalties for not enrolling in Part B at 65?

I submitted my application for social security benefits online on November 9, with a requested start date of when I turn 66 on November 29th. Recently, I received a letter instructing me to contact a specific individual at social security regarding an issue. Despite leaving messages for them yesterday and this morning, I was informed today by someone else calling from an [redacted] number that the contact person is currently on vacation. This representative asked for personal information and mentioned suspicions of fraud, indicating I need to schedule an in-person appointment at a local office. Unfortunately, no appointments are available until January. I am uncertain about this situation and the delay in speaking with the appropriate social security representative.

I have been struggling to access my account for months since I switched to a new laptop following the demise of my old one. The password cannot be retrieved due to the previous laptop's destruction, but the SSA website is uncooperative. I attempted to get a new password, but the security questions are not functioning correctly, and I am unable to modify them without logging in. Despite requesting over 20 temporary passwords, none have worked, resulting in me being locked out each time. After extensive online research on countless Google pages, I have not found any solutions. The provided phone number only leads to an automated system without the option to speak to a representative, and the wait time for assistance is longer than their operating hours.

My Social Security number is [redacted]. My name is Susan C. This situation with Social Security has been troublesome from the beginning. Eight years ago, I received a $10,[redacted] check for widower’s benefits after my husband passed away. I personally visited the Social Security office in Chicago and returned the check because the regulations specify that I am only eligible for widower's benefits if I earn $14,[redacted] per year or less. Since I was earning more than that, I informed them that I did not meet the criteria. However, they insisted that I qualified due to being a widow. After two years passed, they informed me that there was an error and that I had been overpaid. We arranged for me to repay them $10 per month, which I have faithfully done for the last eight years. Without warning, they deducted money from my tax refund two years ago, and now they are garnishing my wages. They have raised my monthly payments from $10 to $20, and I have continued to comply with their demands each month without fail.

I have had multiple receipts and my SSI number stolen. I've reported my Direct Express Debit Card and Colorado State ID Card (94-[redacted]) missing. Currently, I don't have a PO Box, making it challenging to attend in-person meetings or teleconferences due to my hearing and vision impairment from birth, causing several issues. I have faced violations of my freedom and civil rights, being stalked and impersonated. I have experienced issues with missing checks that were directly deposited into my account. When my bank closed my accounts unexpectedly, my social security deposits were returned. After contacting Social Security on October 11th, they updated my banking information and also added my minor daughter's information for her S.S. benefits. My disability check was promptly deposited into the new account, which I appreciate. However, my daughter's benefit checks are still missing, causing me financial strain. Despite contacting Social Security multiple times and visiting the local office, I was only told that the issue needs to be resolved at the payment processing center in MD. I am frustrated with the delay and lack of clarity on when this will be fixed. I wonder why they can't simply mail me the checks or why the process isn't automatic when checks are returned by the bank.

I was approved for partial back pay on March 13, [redacted], in the amount of $8,[redacted]. I contacted a representative yesterday who stated the payment was processed on November 28th. The representative mentioned the US Department of Treasury sends payments via wire direct deposit. I have a recorded call with this representative and will take legal action if the money is not deposited as promised. My bank does not show any record of a recent wire transfer. As a disabled paralyzed military veteran, I had my car repossessed due to delays in receiving my money. I am now at risk of losing my home in the next 72 hours. I updated my banking information in August, but I did not receive my September [redacted] check. After contacting Social Security on 9/28, I thought I had switched to Chase Bank. I was told my returned check would be redeposited, and my October benefit was deposited into my new account. Everything seemed fine, but in November, I didn't receive my benefit. I called Social Security again and was informed that my bank change was not registered. I updated it online and tried going to the local SSA office but left due to the large and noisy crowd. Being without health insurance for a month is a financial strain I cannot manage. I would appreciate clarity on this issue, especially since we both applied simultaneously. I informed the representative that my employment ended on December 6, with total earnings for the month equating to $[redacted]. Despite this, my Benefit letter indicates I am ineligible for December benefits, with the start date pushed to January [redacted]. I received an email instructing me to check my online portal for a message. After viewing it, I noticed my amount for Jan. [redacted] was $[redacted]. Three days later, it decreased to $[redacted]. Could you please investigate and rectify this discrepancy? The email mentioned deducting $[redacted] for Medicare, which doesn't align with my deductions. Blue Cross informed me Medi-Cal was taking over my Medicare and closed my service due to a missed renewal form. Despite not receiving it, my coverage was eventually reinstated. This may have led to the reduction in my payment. I would appreciate assistance in resolving this matter.

I've received a message regarding the suspension of electronic access to my personal information. I attempted to verify the information provided but was unsuccessful. I called for help, but was directed to a different number. I urgently need access to my account to update my work status. The message states I can try again in 24 hours and reassures that Social Security benefits won't be affected.

I made an error with the code number; it should be CODE [redacted]. I struggle with dyslexia, so mistakes happen. I read to expect a call in 10 hours but that's not right; I need assistance when I'm next in line. I can't call due to limited minutes. I have a few questions. One of them concerns why I received a notice indicating I will only receive $15 in food stamps from 01/01/[redacted] to 08/31/[redacted]. Additionally, I feel that I am not receiving sufficient SSI & SSDI. The cost of living is high, and even working more than 30 hours a week does not provide enough for rent, insurance, bills, food, utilities, and other necessities. I am willing to create a budget to outline all the expenses I consider essential, and I am open to discussing this in person at the nearest Social Security Office.

I am aware that his SSI check should be increased to at least $1,[redacted], or more. I am trying to ensure that Joseph James's SSI payment is adjusted as needed. I am Lori K. I tried to sign up for social security today. The social security office was supposed to call me at 11:00 am on my cell phone [redacted], but when they did, I couldn't understand the person on the line. The lady I spoke with was rude and put me on hold indefinitely. I waited for almost 30 minutes, and the recording kept saying my wait time would be an hour before the call disconnected. I visited the Social Security office yesterday in Chicago on Washington and experienced a medical emergency due to my health conditions. I suffer from congestive heart failure, a pituitary tumor, a massive head tumor, and have faced hate crimes, sexual assaults, and abuse because of my disabilities. Despite having paid my Medicare bills, I was denied medical treatment and given only a prescription for Motrin after falling at Weiss. I am worried and feeling neglected, especially as I am not receiving benefits from Netspend. My email was not working earlier, adding to my distress. I fear for myself and other disabled individuals. Was there a government shutdown impacting services? During a visit to St. Joseph's Hospital, I was administered three unfitting shots of Ativan, which concerns me regarding my benefits. There have been irregularities with my insurance and suspicions of mistreatment at the hospital towards me and my sister, Evelyn Todd.
