My **** oven issued a need service code. I called Sears Repair(they were told the age of the oven, the serial and model number) and the representative put me through to the parts dept because I wanted to know if a part was needed, would it be available & was told that if the tech did not have it, it could be ordered and arrive in * to ** days. My neighbor also spoke with the parts department as my neighbor was going to pay for the tech's visit to my home and was told the same information about the part needed would be ordered. The tech came and asked the parts dept about what was needed (problem was in the master control panel) & was told the part is no longer manufactured. Now this is not what the parts dept told me or my neighbor..we were led to believe that any part needed could be ordered. Had we known the part was obsolete, we would not have gone through with the scheduled appt as it cost my neighbor $***. I want a refund for the $*** as Sears was not up front with us.
