About a month ago, I installed Windows ** Pro October **** (clean install). I am recently seeing a windows activation problem. I tried using the troubleshooter to fix it, but it claims that my windows license is for Home edition, while I am sure that it is a Pro.**In the first place, I had upgraded from Windows * to Windows *.* Pro, and then from Windows *.* Pro to windows ** a few years ago and it got activated with no problems all these years (I reinstalled Windows ** since then a few times). I was never given a Windows ** Pro product key (because it was activated after an upgrade from Windows *.*).**A couple of years back, I had a major repair of my laptop (motherboard was changed) but Windows ** Pro remained active since then (even after reinstalling it a few times), until this October **** update. Now I am reading in the forums that I had to associate my Windows ** Pro license with my Microsoft account, which I did not. I even tried my original Windows * Pro product key, but it did not work on Windows ** the activation wizard of course.
