Hi, I am having an issue with transaction at Mercari. I am a seller ( real person, a mom with two kids) trying to make little money from nice things that I have but no longer use. This time I sold a brand new genuine leather jacket (price tag still on, jacket is in excellent condition because it’s brand new of course). There are pictures that can show it’s in perfect. I listed very cleary that it’s genuine leather and brand new with pictures. It’s a well known Dutch brand Nikkie Plessen. The buyer suddenly asked for return without a strong reason. She said that “it’s plastic and rusted”. Of course I feel offended. When I asked how do you know it’s plastic?? She said well it’s written in Dutch or German and “PROBABLY “ says it’s vegan leather. I mean, heyyy anyone can google translate it and there is actually an official Indonesian translation that says it’s ***% genuine leather made of lamb skin. This buyer just trying to get a refund without a good reason but the sad thing is Mercari approved this kind of return request. I know Mercari has a buyer protection guarantee but I thought you have certain requirements. I can prove and guarantee it is real leather and please ask the buyer to show pictures that it’s rusted! Where is your protection for small seller like me? Please look through very carefully before solving the problem. Thank you.
