The issue in GetHuman1235205's own words
I had a ride with a Lyft driver named Hassib. I confirmed the ride and was given a price of $*.** for a *.* mile trip. I noticed that it immediately deducted the cost of the ride from my debit card even though I had not been picked up. I called the number provided for Hassib to inquire if he was going to pick me up and he assured me he would. He picked me up and I asked him about the price being taken out before the ride began. He said this was standard practice to make sure the drivers didn’t waste time driving customers who couldn’t pay. I told them this had never happened with any other lyft drivers but his explanation was satisfactory and I completed the ride under the assumption that I had already paid for it. When the ride was completed I got the prompt I usually get to rate the driver and pay*tip them. I am being billed twice now and still expected to tip. This is unacceptable and I would appreciate a resolution immediately so that I am not double billed for a ride that I was forced to pay for before even being picked up.
