I went to my local Kohls to exchange * pairs of pants that were $**.** each that I had bought. They were size ***** and too big for my son, he needed ***** which were not available in this store. I was told that I could even exchange them for "similar items of around the same price." Since their were no pants available in his size, I got * pairs of jeans for myself and * sweaters that added up to just over the price of the * pairs of pants. One sweater was $**.**, the pants were $**.** each, and the other sweater was $**.**. I would have gladly paid the difference in what I was exchanging, but was told that was not an option based on policy.**They had to return the pants and I will receive a refund of $**.**, but I lost my $** Kohl's cash, my **% off, and my $** coupon from Black Friday in the process. Then I had to purchase the items and ended up spending a lot more than I would have. I could not save **% again because I did not have a coupon with me nor my $** coupon. The available % off wasnt an option because I do not have a Kohls charge, I earned $** Kohls cash back, but cannot use it until tomorrow and honestly only need jeans that I cannot buy through Kohls because they arent carried in that size. I spent $**** tonight when I really should have only spent about $**. **I understand why you lose Kohls cash when you return items for a REFUND, but I didnt want a refund. I just wanted to exchange the pants for other things in the store. **I am not sure what needs to be done to resolve this issue, but I do think I should at least get the almost $** I would have saved with **% off and should have been able to exchange without the hassle and rudeness I received and not have lost my Kohls cash that I could have used today in the process. **It would have been nice to have been able to call customer service as well. I waited over **minutes for a customer service rep and was hung up on (although probably accidentally) when they tried to pick up my line. It was a very frustrating and upsetting experience all around this evening.
