Trying to access my Gmail on Chromebook, which was never a problem until recently. ... I can no longer access my gmail account on my Chromebook. I am supposed to use my gmail user name or my phone number to access my gmail on my Chromebook. It won't accept either one, saying that the password is wrong (which it is NOT) or if I use my phone number (the only one I've had for over * decades), it says my account simply doesn't exist. I have no problem accessing my gmail on my pc, only on my Chromebook. Until recently I never had to type in anything to access Gmail on my Chromebook.
I cannot sit at my pc for long because of severe back and hip problems. Chromebook is easier for me to use, not causing the physical pain that ensues when I sit in front of my pc. Now I can ONLY check my Gmail on my pc.
Tell me how to fix this. I don't understand why, even when using my phone number, I'm told that no account exists for that phone number. That's incorrect and this whole mess is so totally unnecessary. Why didn't they just leave things as they were? PLEASE TAKE THIS REQUIREMENT OFF OF MY CHROMEBOOK!
I've been with Google for several years.
Yes. Everything imaginable. Of course, it's not a problem on my end. It's Google's new access requirement that's the problem. There's no way I can fix it on my own.
