The issue in GetHuman-voylesj's own words
I was on a road trip with my friend Fri. Sept. **-Sept **. We stayed at a motel and Sat. morning my friend went out for a smoke while I was finishing up getting ready. She was out by my car which is a **** Chevy Traverse and everything was ok with the car. After we finished breakfast and was ready to leave for the day, we went to the car and found that my left passenger window was shattered with some glass still in the window, but also “a lot “ of shattered pieces on the seat and all over the floor mats. The manager was very helpful by bringing out a shop vac. and vacuuming the pieces of glass from my car and by the car outside on the parking lot and what glass we were able to remove, so we be on our way to get it fixed. It was “very”warm with no shade around at all. It was only a matter of ** minutes(tops) that we were in having breakfast. All of the cars windows were up then and through the night. The dealer around said they don’t replace windows that we would have to find an auto glass shop that replaced windows. The closest one was ** miles one way. Then we were traveling back the opposite direction, so it was ** miles plus to get where we where going. They couldn’t do anything but shrink wrap the window opening because of our time frame. Someone is coming back tomorrow to my house ( Sept.**) because when he took the door off to replace the window, the regulator came uncoiled. After making numerous calls around us to get a new one, (which would take at * week to get ordered and receive it,) we found a place * hour away one way that had the part (at $***.**). My question is- Have you every had customers get in touch with you regarding the possibility of their window or windows shattering from the heat? Or any recalls on this type of incident? My shattered window (what was still in the window) was bowed outwards, not like someone broke the window. I would appreciate an email back with your comments. I feel like there could have been a defect in the window to cause this to happen and feel like I should be compensated for it! Thank You, Judith Voyles
