Sign into my Facebook account ... Dear Facebook, **I was forced into using your service by our local newspaper. A Facebook identity is a requirement for making comments. So I have many essays on my Facebook site from over the years. They probably amount to hundreds of pages. It’s been nice that people who like what I write have been able to visit my Facebook site. Looks like some congress people did as well if friend recommendations are inspired by that. And it saddens me that you’re going to put all that output to flames. I’ve seen videos of when Germans did the same in the ****s. And of course from that, Ray Bradbury was inspired to write, ‘Fahrenheit ***.’ Sad to see that Facebook has chosen to go a like direction. So when will the bonfire for my Facebook works be lit? Or has it already? **I remember as a kid reading of how various despotic nations encouraged their citizens to turn in their neighbors if they heard them say anything critical of their leaders. Weird living in a time when it only requires one person to make you crack down on me in just such a way, too. **In Hong Kong, we saw how China made it illegal to wear masks on the streets. I suspect they may have stolen the idea of forced unmasking from Facebook which doesn’t allow for hiding behind pseudonyms, either. Pen names have a long tradition in literature. Ben Franklin loved using them. So he’d have been banned by your company. So would have George Elliot and George Sand, both women and well-known novelists. How about Mark Twain? More recently, we learned you’d need block Mitt Romney from your site, too. Turns out he’s been making use of the greater freedom Twitter allows, to make comments under the name of Pierre Delecto. Given that, if you feel yourself representing a rigid, intolerant company by comparison, I don’t blame you. Thing is, your leader, Zuckerberg, is such a timid soul, terrified of politicians, is it any wonder he’s into putting literature to flames, with a goal that others not see? **I’m just grateful you folk held back on suppressing my free speech. Otherwise there would be three innocent truck drivers, right now, rotting in prison with federal convictions for hauling hemp. I got them off which is why, I suspect, there are big shots angry at me, one of whom wrote you to shut me down. So thank you for letting me save three good men before giving into powerful forces, to do me in. Of course, attacking dangerous people has often been a reason for using pen names. Happily, this time it worked so well, people even started a petition to free the truckers after reading my commentary. **Any chance, before throwing my works into the flames, you could let me have a couple days to copy everything first? Don’t worry. Friends, family, and associates would likely only read it if it was still on your site. So if saved, it would just be for my reference. Harmless, then, right? The end result would be more like in ‘Fahrenheit ***' where books are gone but people walk around with them memorized. In this case, it would be just me. That system greatly cuts down on readership. So, you know, you could reassure my accuser, there can be no harm in that. It’s all I ask. **Thanks, **Jack Cass**Of course, better yet, let me keep my account. . . Too much, though, huh? Just a day, then, to open it up one last time?
A whole lot, it would seem.
Would like my account made active again.
Have been a member for about nine years.
This is the only option I've yet found.
