My nephew is deceased. Thinking I was being helpful, I set my niece as the legacy contact. I didn't realize by doing this she could no longer log into her brother's FB account (she has his login credentials). Her mom (my sister) recently asked her to make a screen shot of a private message left for him after his death because it was healing for her* however, she can no longer log into his account. I guess I should have read the small print. It appears that I can remove my niece as the legacy contact, but I'm afraid to do this as we definitely want to keep his account alive and I don't want it to be inadvertently deleted or archived. His friends still post to his account, plus his mom holds a celebration for his friends every year and they post a group photo. Since I set up the legacy contact, if I hit remove, will his account automatically be deleted? Ideally, I would like my niece to be able to set herself as the legacy contact on her own. Will you please let me know under what circumstances you would delete a FB account of a deceased user? I don't want to cause more stress than I already have for my niece.
