Flight **** from Barcelona to Newcastle on the **th of October was cancelled due to a storm. The next available flight with EasyJet was on Wednesday the **th. We were a party of * (* of whom were nurses required for clinical shifts at work on the **th). We were advised by the easyJet rep at the airport that, as there was no easyJet flight home for * days, if we booked our own flights these would be refunded. We did this and flew back to Newcastle via Alicante (no direct flights) on the **th at a cost of £**** for the * of us. I submitted a claim form for this cost plus a small amount for food. I didn’t receive any acknowledgement of my claim. I have today received an email ‘confirming my flight booking’ for the cancelled flight, I’ve got no idea what the purpose of that email is. I need confirmation that my claim has been received and that I will receive the full amount of reimbursement.
