I was travelling to Birmingham in Thursday evening flight at *** , I arrived at airport promptly but as I cannot hear the tannoy making announcements clearly I relay on checking screens , unfortunately time got away with me and when I next checked a screeen in said last call for my gate , I sprinted the *** yards to my gate to be told in a rather rude and abrupt manner that gate was closed , and that I could get on next flight for £** pounds. I begged and pleaded to get on as everyone was clearly still outside and not boarded yet . I realise I may have been late to the gate but the attitude of your staff was atrocious. *I am a disabled passenger travelling alone and trying to keep my independence and self respect intact whilst doing so !!! *I would like you to get your cctv footage of me trying to board and then of customer service area and tell me what you think of your staff conduct in dealing with me . *I have MS I also wear a hearing aid and had a very bad chest infection that day , I also am currently enduring a hard time with my mental health due to medication side effects. *Now I am not telling you all this for self pity , I am simply pointing out my hidden illnesses. *I feel the need to point out my hidden illnesses especially as it was mental health week , and clearly your staff are not equipped to deal with any passengers that have any disabilities or health issues full stop , *If you view said cctv you will clearly see me struggling to breathe and take out an inhaler and fire of my coat as I was gagging for breathe!! Your staff ignored me other than to very quickly tell me I could get new flight at £** , not once did they offer me a glass of water or ask me was I ok or did I need any assistance, they just told me to go to customer services down stairs n ignored me !! When I reached customer service ( ***pm still could have been put on plane ) the same staff had nipped down to ask me ** pounds for later flight, which I find bad customer care to start with before every thing else , now if you watch the cctv here you will see that I am clearly distressed and can’t breathe or even give the girl my address!! Again I was not asked did I want to sit down a min or given a glass of water , or asked did I need some help , was I ok or did I need a moment as I was clearly crying and very distressed... obviously the staff have not been trained on mental heath or disability needs !!! *I would like to know what you propose to do to end this sort of treatment? *I am disappointed and feel let down by your company that I had to put myself through this , I would not like anyone to have to go through what I did , I cannot begin to tell you how that made me feel and the knock on effect it had on my weekend never mind my sanity that day . I am a very very unhappy customer. I would like some answers please and some assurance that staff will be trained in future, Colleen
