I have Directv with a DVR receiver, plus * Genies.*I'm trying to cut costs and have never used the DVR for recording. I was told by Directv in the Philippines that if DVR receiver was removed I would no longer be able to get TV service. I asked if I could do away with DVR Receiver and service and get a HD receiver and they could not answer.*I asked to be connected to someone in the United States and was told they could not do that.*I have never used DVR service, don't understand it and too **** old to learn. Simply put I am not the least bit interested in it. I have never recorded a TV program and at ** (wife is ** with dementia) and wife is not about to learn.
I'm simply trying to ask a question and find out best options for me.
Just give me some straight answers as to which way to go, disconnect DVR service or remove DVR Receiver and * Genies for HD receivers.
Been with Directv for some ** years with a *-day break in service over a dispute about * years ago.
