Hey there. I’ve been using Care.com for years. Recently my account was suspended because of a mark on my background check by Sterling Talent Solutions. I’ve paid for an advanced background check and updated several times since first opening my account with Care.com over ** years ago. I’ve NEVER had a family or company look negatively on my background as a professional nanny. Care.com hasn’t either, until now. Nothing has changed with my background. It’s the same it’s been since I was ** yo (when the mark was first on my background check) now ** yo. Again, I’ve been using Care.com to find employment for over ** years! Your email stated that to keep Care.com a safe online community then my account was going to be suspended. Why? For ** plus years Care.com didn’t consider me unsafe. Neither did any of the several families I have worked for from Care.com deem me “unsafe”. I’m very frustrated. I spoke with an outsourced representative and she kept repeating that I could dispute the charge. Dispute how? The mark is a valid ** year old mark. Care.com has allowed me to remain on their online community for over ** years with that same mark on my background. Why now am I unsafe when I’ve been active on Care.com and considered safe by its community of families for over ** years?! This doesn’t make sense to me. I feel you should let the families decide not a lottery of random searches and an outsourced representative. I’m VERY disappointed with Care.com’s business model*policies and handling of my situation. Not because I’m affected negatively, because the actions of Care.com are unjust and ridiculous. I feel, as a professional nanny, your policies need to be reviewed and adjusted to allow the families to choose who they will hire. Taking that freedom from the families and shaming the nannies actually reflects more negatively on Care.com and is extremely unfair and limiting to your online community.
I trust that Care.com will make this right and come up with a resolution that is fair.
