I booked a room at The Holiday Inn Express-Downers Grove, Illinois for dates...

I booked a room at The Holiday Inn Express-Downers Grove, Illinois for dates ****-****. Upon arrival approximately **pm. We were given a room with strong smell of cigarette smoke (this is a non smoking hotel). I asked to be moved and they moved us to room ***. It was rather late and we were exhausted as we had to move all of our luggage again. We went into the room and smelled mildew, but we quickly got in the shower and went to bed as we had to be up the next morning. We hurried out the next morning to eat breakfast and left for our event which was held at the McCormick Place in Chicago, roughly ** minutes away. Upon arrival back to the room later that night..my * year old was running around the room and I noticed his socks were wet. I didn’t know how they had gotten wet, and I immediately changed them. We sat and watched tv and I rushed into the restroom with my flip flops on and as I entered the restroom, I slipped it the bathroom room as I quickly noticed that the carpet on the outside of the restroom was soaked in water. There was a pool of water outside the restroom. I immediately called the office and a manager came down to place towels on the floor, he also agreed that he smelled mildew in our room. Now the cause of the smell of mildew was evident. He even stated that by son being so young that the mildew could set in his lungs..That freaked me out and I asked to be moved....again..so now it’s maybe **-**pm and we had to pack and relocate to room ***. My experience at this hotel was horrid. I am sore from my slip into the bathroom. I am also upset because they placed us into a dangerous situation. I am sure the leak in the floor is a problem that has been know me about for sometime. To place me and my family in a mildew room, which could cause respiratory issues and anyone of us could’ve fell and seriously hurt themselves. Please get back with me concerning these issues.
