I write to you as a loyal booking.com customer and genius member. I have loved the site for years now and always consult booking.com if myself or and friends*family have an upcoming trip planned. I've often wondered if the genius status on booking.com is really all that special? This comes from having booked accommodation using my genius status only to find that a friend has got the same price using another search engine which they are not affiliated with. Indeed, after this time I decided to check for myself and found genius prices on the same properties on another site. Moreover, if you contact the accommodation directly they offer the same discounts without mentioning booking.com. In any case I have continued to use booking.com as I hoped that my loyalty could benefit me in the long run. Sadly I lost a bit of faith over recent months as I already emailed booking.com to ask about how my genius status actually benefits me in relation to other sites that reward customers with free nights accommodation, only to have my email go unanswered. Then this morning, my partner recieved an email from booking.com, after not having used the site for well over a year stating that booking.com were offering her up to £** off of a future booking if booked before the end of October! This has left a slightly bitter taste in my mouth as my partner who hasn't been using booking.com is being offered such a reward but myself as a loyal booking.com customer has never received an incentive like this from booking.com. This is even though your website states that the more I use the site the more incentives I will achieve. Please can you explain to me what makes someone who hasn't used your site for over a year eligible for such a reward while loyal customers like myself receive nothing? I feel a lot let down, annoyed and undervalued presently **
