Booking confirmation number ****.***.*** was provided for a stay at Vinifera Inn at Belhurst castle. We booked for a king room with lake view. Upon arrival we were placed in a room with a view of the parking lot. We expressed our disapproval and showed our confirmation since the room description clearly said lake view. We were told that booking.com chose the room and they were the ones who put us in room *** with the parking lot view. The manager said they were not responsible for the room number assignment and could not put us in a different room. The manager clearly placed the room assignment on booking.com. I am very suspicious of this explanation. I would therefore like to know if you do assign actual room numbers at the time of booking? I will then follow up with the hotel if their manager told this to us as a lie.
