The issue in GetHuman-tonysher's own words
We have taken many train rides. From alliance to Fullerton, ca....from alliance to Las Vegas (* times)....from alliance to Orlando, Florida (* times)....from alliance to Chicago, from alliance to Washington DC..... All by sleeper car. We have been pleased with all of them ( except one from alliance to Chicago a couple years ago) but NOT the one we are just finishing........**From Chicago to Kingman Arizona train **(June **-**)*- room not cleaned for over six hours. *- Wasn’t cleaned when First came on*- Dirty towels and wash cloths on floor. *- Dirty pillows and sheets and blankets*- Stuff in sink*- Bathroom not cleaned what so ever *- Used toilet paper on seat and urine *- Couldn’t use bathroom*- Was told by Pinky she knew it was unclean and she would get to it when she had time*- Pinky was rude from time we got on. She was upset bc train was late and they let us on too early for her liking. *- When asked to at least clean bathroom she was too busy and after six hours after insisting she finally cleaned *- We cleaned the rest of stuff up and put on the floor for her so we could at least sit *- She told us we could use public bathrooms *- The light and outlets went out. We couldn’t use toilet or shower yet again*- When brought to her attention she did look at but then said well it needs a light bulb and she couldn’t help us til Albuquerque! *- I explained I didn’t think it was light bulb. She said yet again we can use public shower and restroom. We paid about * grand to get a room w a private WORKING bathroom facility!!*- About another hour I tried talking to her again and explained I did not think it was light bulb bc the light by sink did not work and the outlet did not work. She finally went and checked a fuse downstairs and that was the problem *- When we finally got to Kingman to take shuttle , our names were not even on list! Thank God there was a family also taking shuttle bc we wouldn’t have had a ride! We scheduled this vacay over six months ago!! Why wasn’t our names on the shuttle list?**Las Vegas airport to Chicago ( June **-**) *- when arrived at Las Vegas airport for our two hour shuttle there were many people waiting. ***** ppl. The driver brought the van instead of the bus to transport the amount of ppl. *- The van only accommodates ** ppl max. And that is if you have all smaller people. *- We were told that we didn’t need seat belts. And the end people basically had half a seat. There were children on the van. So they were wo seatbelts!! What if we want to wear a seat belt?! I like my safety !! *- It was sooo crowded you seriously could not move in your seat. We had to carry one of our bags with us in van ( along w all the people ) *- It was so uncomfortable and so unsafe.*- I asked driver about the bus for this number of people and he said well this is a Cadillac compared to that bus. Yes it may have been smoother ride but for that many people it was not better!! It was just plain unsafe!*- So we get into our train ** on way back to Chicago. Only to discover we have no hot water to take a shower!*- Oh and once again was told to use public facilities. What are we paying for?? *- Our shower door would also not stay closed. So we’re constantly , even in middle of night had to keep shutting. We finally had to block w our bag to keep from swinging open and hitting glass mirror. *- When brought to our attendants attention she did have the conductor look at but could not be fixed. He said they would write it up and have it fixed in Kansas City. Guess what we are now well past Kansas City and no one even looked at!! *- My husband went to the dining room to get two cups of ice for a beverage we had In our room. He was told by the main guy in the dining room he didn’t have time and go ask your attendant. So he went back and found our attendant only for her to say go ask attendant in dining room. My husband explained that he had already gone there and was told to ask her. She rolled her eyes and said well it’s his job. She grabbed the cups from my husband and got the ice. *- Not Sure who is to blame on this one. On all our trains in past, we have had a box* bucket of ice and juice we could grab ourself. So not sure why she didn’t have that. But yet once again, the customer pays the price!! No one wants to do their job!! It’s time to maybe rethink the practices and acceptance of subpar customer service!! It’s costing you customers who pay big money!! *- The first nite we smelled something funky in our room when we put the bed down. We could t pin point it. *- The next night we turned our bed down again ( ourselves bc our attendant would not!) *- I leaned down to push mattress back and smelled it! Urine on the mattress!! Yes pungent urine smell which got on our personal blanket ( which cost $**!). *- We put light in for attendant. She came and was shocked but she folded it up along w sheets and blanket and put in conductors office. *- I asked for a new mattress. Guess what none available!! Really? Cuz train wasn’t full! We were offered a sheet to put on the couch. Well our couch has a gaping hole in between cushions!! So you can imagine the comfort in that! *- I did not sleep at ALL. It was not one bit comfortable. My body kept going into the split of the seats. *- Before our attendant left our room ( roughly ***pm) she did point out that she will NOT be answering call lights so don’t bother turning on. She’s going to bed and will only come in an emergency ( IMO ) basically saying the urine on the mattress was not urgent and we should not have called her *- I’m sick of hearing there is nothing to be done. I’m sick of hearing just call the **** number. This is unacceptable. We paid a lot of money for the bedrooms. And to have major stuff wrong w them is unacceptable!*- It is now lunch time on Saturday the ** and we are told that we are allowed to have a hamburger or veggie burger only. The train is completely full and they’re going to keep it light!! Our meal is included w our room. So now we get one choice. What if I do not want a burger? Well no lunch for us! *- Oh did I mention our room attendant hasn’t seen us at all today??*- We will be going on the Capitol limited from Chicago to Ohio around ***. So I will have had no lunch and for dinner I get offered a salad!! Really?! Again what exactly am I paying for?*- The menu on the Capitol is unreal. Just trying to save a buck at the passengers expense! There is not anything on the menu I will even eat. This is not right. And looking at kids menu for this leg of trip is ridiculous. Not all ( prolly not many kids) will eat a turkey sandwich!! *- The lack of customer service is great!! This whole trip is so unacceptable. I would like a full refund. *****Our awesome most comfy bed we were forced to sleep in!! **My cell number is **********. *I would like to speak with your corporate office regarding these issues. **Sherrie diDonato *- * *
