Fly from CAK to Barcelona, Spain.Thia was very frustrasted. ... We were flying to Barcelona, Spain to go on a cruise to the Mediterranean on June **, **** to celebrate our ** year anniversary. We choose to fly out of CAK and pay the additional cost because it is only * minutes from our home and we wouldn’t have had to pay for parking. Our Royal Caribbean cruise was leaving out of Barcelona Spain on June **,**** at *:** p.m.* which we didn’t catch!**We were booked on June **, **** to fly from CAK ( flight AA****) to CLT. We were supposed to have a connecting flight ( flight AA***) to BCN which never happened. **On June **th we arrived two hours early, sat at the gate and waited until boarding time only to have the flight cancelled at the last moment. **The American Airlines counter person told us he could get us on another flight through another airlines. He gave us an itinerary and told us he would transfer our checked in bags to the rescheduled airlines. When we went to the rescheduled airline counter the women informed us that we were on their roster but our bags needed to be claimed and checked in with their airlines. By the time we claimed our bags at the American Airlines counter the rescheduled flight was boarded and would allow us to board.**American Airlines gate counter person had left and another counter person told us the next flight out was out of CLE on June **, **** in the morning. *We had to wait at the CAK airport until my son could pick us up and take us home to get our vehicle and drive to Cleveland and get a hotel due to the early early departure time.**We were rebooked to fly from CLE*(flight AA****) to JFK to LHR (flight AA***). **We arrived into LHR around **:** pm where we had to spend the night in a hotel ( * hours of sleep) and fly to NCE. Our flight out of LHR to NCE left at *:** a.m..**We arrived in Nice, France to catch our ship at *:** p.m., one day late. We missed a whole day of cruising, our planned excursion in Nice, France was missed, etc.**This trip was planned over * months ago and unfortunately it was very stressful instead of relaxing and exciting.**In addition, the conclusion of our trip was again stressful! Since our car had to be parked in Cleveland on June **th and we were flown back to CAK on July *st had to drive to Cleveland to pick up our vehicle. Cleveland is approximately ** minutes from our home, compared to * minutes to CAK. *** Gate agent told us that American Airlines would contact us to discuss this trip. The cancellation of the flight and how it was handled was very frustrating and showed lack of respect to all inconvenienced.
We would like compensated by reimbursing us for the cost of travel to Cleveland, the hotel stays,the cost to park our vehicle in Cleveland and for all inconveniences and stress with missing the ship and first and second day of acries of our cruise.
We travel at least three to four times a year and trusted American Airlines to be reliable.
We have tried calling American Airlines * times immediately only to told they would call us back within * hour and ** minutes to * hour ** minutes. No call....
