The issue in GetHuman-nkutner's own words
I fulfilled a gift card balance on my Amazon account approximently * weeks ago. I purchased a movie on Amazon Prime on Monday night using balance from that gift card. On Tuesday morning, an unauthorized purchase was made on my account for two Playstation gift cards totaling nearly the exact remaining balance on my gift card. THESE WERE NOT PURCHASED BY ME. I live alone, and at the time of the purchase I was driving, with my laptop in my bag. About * hour after i received the purchase notification, I called Amazon. They had me change my password and told me someone would get back to me within ** hours. Within * hours I got a call saying that there was no unauthorized activity on my account (even though there was.) I called back and was apologized to for the mistake, and told that they would be locking my account for **-** hours and I would be followed up with by email. ** hours passed and I was not followed up with. I sent an email asking to be contacted as soon as possible and got a response saying it would be within * hours. I again was not followed up with. This morning, I got an email saying amazon had again determined that there was no unauthorized activity on my account. I called Amazon again, and again was apologized too and told that my account would once again be locked for ** hours and this would be looked into. This time I asked to speak to a supervisor so I could ensure that the issue got handled. The supervisor I spoke to was extremely rude and condescending, and told me that the team had found that the purchase was made from my laptop (which it was not) and that they would not refund my money. She then told me that I should contact microsoft, and then told me that I "refusing to accept the truth"
GetHuman-nkutner did not yet indicate what Amazon should do to make this right.
