I believe I was victimized by a 'bait-and-switch' which resulted in my being charged nearly double for the room I had intended to book. My Agoda booking number is **********, dated ** OCT **** for the Blue Wave Hotel in Coron, Philippines. I had begun my search in Hotels.com, was shown a listing for a room at BlueWave for $** or $** per night. The listing showed it to be the last room available at that price, and was cancellable. I chose to take advantage of the 'deal', proceeded through the booking process for my stay from ** January to ** February. At some point, the total cost zoomed to nearly $***.**. I assumed (wrongly) that the original price would be restored upon finalizing the booking. I was wrong. I note that the room which was reserved is shown as a 'family' room, instead of the *-* person occupancy which I had chosen. I immediately attempted to contact the hotel management, but received no response. I then asked a relative to visit the hotel in person to see if the error could be corrected. She was told that it could only be cancelled through Agoda, but that it was cancellable up to two months prior to the dates of occupancy. When I attempted to cancel on your website, I was informed that, yes, I could indeed cancel the reservation, but that it was non-refundable. Please adjust this transaction and refund my payment through my PayPal account which was used to make the original payment.
