My last confirmation number is **********A. The number you will call back is my mother. She has been waiting to get her number ported from Spectrum to AT&T for about a month. She has two gateways. One from Spectrum and the new one from AT&T (PACE ****AC). Her phone is still connected to the old Spectrum device, and since she is now paying for AT&T phone service, she would like her old number of the last *** years ported. This has been requested SEVERAL times. No one has been able to provide a status as to whether this service request has been completed. Numerous porting dates have been missed. Her AT&T Gateway has a solid green light next to the Phone * port, so it appears the phone should be ready to go. But the Spectrum Gateway is still working, and she still has dial tone from Spectrum. The last technician that went to her house to install U-verse told her that if she switched the the phone cord (RJ**) too soon, she would lose her number. I find hard to believe. She is scared to death to switch the phone line to the new Gateway. We need someone to clear up this confusion. Has her number (***) ***-**** been ported to AT&T...YES or NO. Is she safe to move her phone line from the old Gateway to the new Gateway device to test it, or would that put her at risk to lose her current phone number. She has countless doctors and services associated with her number and does not want to change it. Please call her to provide an action plan to get this resolved.
