Connect to internet but couldn't because my home is a dead zone known by AT&T. ... I bought a top of the line phone, Galaxy S*, from AT&T and purchased the unlimited data plan. I've had problems connecting to internet from my my home. Called at least * times to complain. The last time I was offered an internet wifi modem at no charge for ** months. Worked great. Was able to**$ Then I started receiving bills for installation and monthly charges. I called to say the modem should be no charge for ** months. I was transferred numerous times to different depts with no resolution. Now service suspended for non pymt. Just over *hrs with Combined Billing Dept. Finally spoke with someone who found documentation that modem is no charge for ** months. Transferred me to the manager who could fix the problem but he said he couldn't because AT&T doesn't just give out :modems for cellphone connection issues. He agreed to listen to the recording I had of a different dept saying she sees notes in my file stating no change for modem for ** mos. I played recording, ***way through the connection to manager was lost. I called back and was told he'd call back within ** min. That didn't happen.
AT&T Customer Service rep told me that my address was in a Poor to No Service area. *-* bar strength inside, *-* bar outside my home.
I want them to honor the solution that one of their reps offered me, Home Internet modem at no charge for ** months or another solution that won't cost me more money.
I have only been a customer since I bought my new (pricey) phone from them * months ago.
I've gone so far as change to different carrier that has better service in my location. My new phone not compatible with their network because bought thru AT&T. I have no choice now but pay out more money to be able connect to internet. I think this is wrong no matter how you look at it.
