Help with my AT&T issue
The issue in GetHuman-jcwhite's own words
HERE'S MY ISSUE: I reported a problem with my landline phone (It seemed to be on, but there was no no dial tone), using a cell phone from a remote location. Internally, AT&T was able to verify that there was a problem with the phone connection and said they'd check on the line from the pole to the house. When I got to the house, I found a technician's note stuck in the door advising me to check the box on the outside of my house. (I already knew this.) and informing me that there is a $***.** charge for service calls. I was never informed of this. I immediately called customer service and was told that the charge applies if they have to do work inside of the house (I already knew this, too.) and not to worry about the $***.** charge. However, when I received my printed phone bill, yesterday, there was a charge for $**.** for the (unsolicited) field technician's visit. Once again, I called customer service. The service representative, Jamie, told me that the $**.** fee would not be removed, that he had no supervisor, there was no other way to appeal this, and that AT&T wanted to get rid of their landline customers, anyway. I guess they're succeeding. I told Jamie to terminate that phone line's service at the end of the billing cycle. **HERE'S HOW i WANT IT FIXED: They remove the charge for the unapproved $**.** service call. We'll settle-up and clear our accounts between one another.
GetHuman-jcwhite did not yet indicate what AT&T should do to make this right.
