Zillow is a website where home owners who would like to sell their properties can list and sell them. You can find millions of for sale and for rent listings on the site.

Zillow uses certain parameters that home owners post on their listing to come up with an estimate of how much the home is worth. It is called the 'Zestimate.'

Having the correct information on your Zillow listing is important in determining the Zestimate. You may also be reported by others on the site if you put up the wrong information on Zillow.

By having the wrong information on your listing, its validity will be brought into question. Other features that you have put up on your listing about the property will also be doubted.

The location of a piece of property is vital to evaluating its value. There are plenty of factors tied to the location that affect its price. Factors such as security, closeness to a school district, average income of the residents and many others all affect the value of a property. Therefore, you may falsely increase or decrease the value of your home by having the wrong location on your listing.

The accuracy of information on your listing is also crucial for directing prospective buyers to the house. After a prospective buyer has evaluated the listing on Zillow, they will also want to evaluate the property in person.

By having the correct location on your Zillow listing, it is much easier to direct buyers to your property. The more buyers that visit your property, the higher the chances of you selling the house.

Editing Your Listing

Listings on Zillow should be edited when you are creating the listing. It is better for you and also others on the site if the information is accurate from the beginning.

You can change the location on your listing by following these steps:

1. Launch your web browser

2. Open the Zillow website

3. Log into the Zillow account you used to create the listing whose location you would like to change

4. Once in your account page, click 'My Zillow' in the upper right corner of the page

5. From the My Zillow toolbar, select 'Listings'

6. You will be presented with a menu that includes 'Edit listing', 'Remove listing', or 'Extend listing.' Click 'Edit Listing'

7. Under 'Edit' go to 'Home Facts'

8. Change the address of your property to the correct one

9. Click 'Update for sale by owner' at the bottom of the page to save your change of location.

Another process you can use to change the location of your listing is to:

1. Launch your web browser

2. Open the Zillow website

3. Log into the Zillow account you used to create the listing whose location you would like to change

4. Once in your account page, click 'My Zillow' in the upper right corner of the page

5. Go to the listing of your property

6. Click 'Owner's View'

7. Click 'Edit Listing'

8. Change the address of the listing

9. Click 'Done' when you are finished.

If you are unable to change your listing's location through the above processes, you should alert Zillow about the incorrect address using the following steps:

1. Open the property page of the listing with the wrong location

2. Hover the mouse over the drop down menu labeled 'More' at the top of the listing page

3. Click 'Report problem with listing'

4. You will be requested to answer several questions to help clarify the issue. When prompted, check 'Incorrect information/photos' as the issue type and 'Home facts' as the incorrect information

5. Click 'Done' to submit the report.

Zillow's customer service team should contact you soon to change the location. If they don't, you can find their contact information on GetHuman.
