Introduction

If your tweets on X are not appearing in other people's timelines, you probably want to figure out what is going on and get the problem solved. There are a few different things that might be causing it. For the most part, the issue should be pretty easy to fix.

What You'll Need

If there are specific people who are not seeing your tweets, the problem may be that they have their timelines set to "Home." This will result in the X algorithm selecting what tweets they see, and your tweets might not be prioritized. If they set their timelines to "Latest," they should start being able to see your tweets. If you have the "Mark media you post as containing material that may be sensitive" option turned on in your settings, your tweets will not show up in the timeline of anyone who has safe search filters turned on. Turning off this option should fix the problem.Sometimes, technical problems with X's software can keep things from being updated, so it may be awhile before your tweets appear in anyone's timeline. Just waiting a bit might take care of the problem.Your account can be suspended for multiple reasons, such as suspected spam activity, posting harmful or illegal content, and the use of excessive hashtags. (Using too many hashtags is typical of bots, so X deprioritizes tweets with too many. It is best to use no more than three on any given tweet.)

A sign in popup tool will appear.

Why Aren't My Tweets Showing on Other People's Timeline? (Step 2)

Choose one of the sign in options to sign in to your X account.

Click on the ""Settings and Privacy" option.

Select "Privacy and safety."

Choose the "Audience and tagging" option.

Turn off the "Protect your posts" option if it is turned on.

If you have the post protection feature enabled, only your followers will be able to see your tweets. If you turn it off, this restriction will no longer exist.
If this isn't the cause of the problem, continue with the next steps.

Check your recent tweets.

If they start with an @Name, this is probably the cause of the problem. It makes the X algorithm assume that your tweet is a reply, and so only people who follow both you and the person you are supposedly following will be able to see the tweet. Changing the way you start your tweets should fix the problem. If it does not, proceed with the next step.

Go to your account page and check your account status.

If your account has been restricted for violating X's policies, others may not be able to see your tweets. If your account has been restricted, you will need to contact X to see how you can get it lifted.

Conclusion

If you can't get the problem figured out yourself, contact an X customer support representative. X does not have customer supports services over the phone. However, online customer support options are available.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for X Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
