To initiate a return, you can either call the phone number on the back of your sales receipt or return the item online by going to the order history department of your account and clicking on My Return Ticket — this option is available for 30 days after the order ships. You've probably purchased several items from Vitacost. If you want to return an item to Vitacost, you wonder how to do so. Well, wonder no more. Here are simple steps to return items to your favorite online retailer.

1. Initiate the Return

To initiate a return, send an email to customer service. Include your name, order number, a brief description of your problem, and why you'd like to return the item.

Follow these instructions to initiate a return:

  • Go to Vitacost's website and click Returns.
  • Then click on Begin Return Process and select the item you want to return.
  • Select the reason for the return. Choose whether your shipment was damaged or defective, received an incorrect item or if it is not as described.
  • If you're unsure which option best fits your situation, choose Other to make it easier for Vitacost customer service agents to assist you.
  • Continue to enter information about your order.

If applicable to your situation, enter the following information:

  • Order Number
  • Date Ordered
  • Email Address

2. Print a Prepaid Label

Scroll down until you see a section labeled Order Status with icons for each order placed and links for returning items and tracking. Click on Return Items under Customer Service Support. You will find other available options that relate specifically to returns.

This will take users directly to their orders page where they can select each item they wish returned before printing out a prepaid return shipping label by clicking Print Return Label.

There are ways to print a prepaid label.

  • On the return page, click the Print Return Label button. This will open your web browser's print function that you can use to print out the label.
  • In an email from Vitacost, click on the link in the email that says Print Return Shipping Label and follow the instructions to print out your prepaid return shipping label.

3. Choose Reasons for Return

Under the Returns tab, select the items you want to return and then choose your reason for the return. Enter your contact information.

4. Send Vitacost Your Return

When you're ready to ship your return, use the same carrier and service you used with your original order. Keep these tips in mind to ensure the proper delivery of your return:

  • Include a copy of your packing slip inside the box with any documentation related to the item you're returning (i.e., receipt).
  • If you do not have the original packaging or the item was damaged during shipment, contact Customer Service to discuss options for repackaging and/or replacement based on the manufacturer's guidelines.

5. Vitacost Will Contact You

Once the item arrives at Vitacost, customer support will inspect it to see whether it is damaged or defective. If so, Vitacost will issue a refund or replacement; if not, the company will contact you with their decision.
