Jul 13, 2023

When it comes to paying bills on time, one of the best ways to ensure this happens is by setting up payments ahead of time. With Truist's recurring bill payments feature, you can set up automatic bill payments to have a recurring schedule that works for you.

You may be wondering how to cancel a recurring bill payment with Truist? Here are the steps to cancel a recurring bill payment with Truist.

1. Go to Your Truist Account

Log in to your account to cancel a recurring bill payment with Truist. To do so, navigate to the Account tab and click it. From there, you'll see your accounts listed. Click on the one you want to cancel and then click View Account. It will appear under the Payments tab.

2. Click Billing

Navigate to your account home page. Click the Billing tab in the navigation bar. You'll see the recurring billing information on the Billing page, including your payment history, any current subscription plans in place and a list of past due charges.

3. Click Edit Bill

You can edit your recurring payment by clicking Edit Bill. You can edit the payment amount, due date and any additional information relevant to your bill.

4. Select Cancel Recurring Bill Payment

Once you're on the page with your recurring payments, find the one you want to cancel and click on its name or payment amount. Then click on the Cancel Recurring Payment button.

This will take you to another page where you can confirm that you want to cancel this payment and specify when it should stop processing it.

5. Confirm Your Choice

It will ask you if this is a permanent cancellation or if it's just temporary before asking how soon before the cancellation takes effect.

6. Receive an Email Confirmation

Once Truist receives your request, it will send an email confirming it has canceled your payment. If you do not receive this confirmation, contact Truist customer support.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Truist Bank Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
