Shopify is an e-commerce platform that allows users to build online stores. The company was founded in 2004 and now supports over 800,000 businesses in 175 countries.
As a shop owner, you have the ability to add tracking to your orders. This will allow you to track the order in the event the client claims it went missing or they never received it. Keep reading to find out all the ways you can track an order with Shopify.
Note that if you purchased a shipping label with Shopify Shipping, it will automatically include a tracking number. This number can be found in the order details and is shared with the customer.
If you have received tracking information from a mail carrier after you have fulfilled the order, you can go into the order details and input the tracking details. This will then send the customer an email with the tracking information so they have it on hand as well. To do so:
Go to www.shopify.com
In the top right corner, select 'Log In.'
Enter your store address and select 'Next.'
Enter your password and sign in to your store.
From your Shopify admin account, click on 'Orders.'
Select the order you want to add tracking information to.
Under the 'Fulfilled' section, click 'Add Tracking.'
Select 'Edit Tracking' and enter the tracking information.
If Shopify recognizes the tracking number format, it may choose a carrier for the number. If it doesn't recognize the number, or if it chooses incorrectly, simply choose the right company from the 'Carrier' drop-down selection.
If you can't find the carrier you've used, select 'Other,' and add the tracking manually
The 'Send notification email to customer' is automatically checked. If you don't want to share the tracking information with your customer, uncheck this box.
Click 'Save.'

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Shopify in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Track an Order with Shopify? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
